Birthday Lunch

For everyone's birthday (well the girls at least) we try to get together at someone's house and we get Cafe Rio take out. Well it was my birthday so we got together for some yummy food. My two sis-in laws couldn't make it. My Grandma Betty was with us though! She is 90 years old...can you believe that???

Ummm so you are wondering where the Cafe Rio is? Yep already in our tummies, we ate it before we had a chance to take a picture.

My friend Adrienne took me to get my nails done. It was so fun, but now my poor clients keep getting stabbed cause I'm still not used to them. Typing is a little harder too, but I'm getting used to it. I love having nails cause you feel like your hands look so much prettier.

Happy New Year!

Christmas

On Christmas Day we took the kids to see the movie Marley and Me. I thought it would be cute for them because it was rated PG. Man I noticed A LOT more having my kids there. I wouldn't recommend it...at least for kids my age.

We went to Gentry's parents house for dinner and the power went out just as we were getting ready to eat. Luckily everything was all cooked. So we enjoyed each others company by flashlight.

Cyndy gave the kids their presents and when I got home and was loading them on the computer Boston said to me "Mom Brock says when our eyes are red like that, it means we have special powers"...he was referring to the red eye. But that is Brock in a nutshell. He is always looking for a way to get "special powers."

I hope you all had a great holiday!

Christmas Day

Christmas morning was so much fun. The kids got so excited about every present. I love watching them getting so excited. Kim and Cyndy came to our house to watch them. We had a couple good laughs. The kids were super happy with all of their presents.

Gettting Crafty...

So Gentry was out of town for a few days working and Adrienne and I decided to do a project while he was gone. Here's what we came up with. Brock loved his cape and said "This is what I've always wanted!" Boston loved it until he saw Alyssa's apron, and decided to turn his cape around the front so it looked more like her apron. I let them open these on Christmas Eve because they couldn't wait to open presents.

Happy Holidays

Santa came to Janay's house and the kids loved him. No crying from my family.

Happy Holidays

alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5284857391588433650" />

Boston was an angel for this years Nativity story, he couldn't have been happier. Brock was a shepherd and Alyssa was Mary.

Christmas Eve was at my sister Janay's house this year. Even my Grandma Betty was able to be there. The only person missing was my brother Alan. Hopefully he can make it next year.

This has been such a fun holiday time for me and my family. We had a great Christmas. And I had one of the best birthdays! I've been having too much fun to blog, so now I will play catch up for the days I've missed.

I thought they were so cute this year. We all have snowflakes. I loved all the different colors too. Not to mention the pants are SUPER WARM. Thank you Cyndy I love them!

Gentry was nice enough to take the kids sledding yesterday. They had a ton of fun and we discovered that you don't really even need a sled...watch the video:)

Toenail Clippings???

So I know the title of this post is a little gross sounding so let me explain.

Boston and Brock were playing outside and Boston found this tiny little thing that looked like a crumb of some sort. So they came running in to show me. (I don't know what their obsession is with these teeny tiny things.) They are yelling "Mom come look at this!!" So I go over to check it out and I'm squinting trying to make it out and I said "What is it you guys?" And Brock pipes in "Is it somebody's toenail clippings?" I about died laughing because now I have to tell you the back ground on that story:

I make everyone go out on the back patio to clip their toenails, and one day Gentry clipped his toenails and came in. A few minutes later Alyssa came in to tell us that Boston was out collecting Gentry's toenail clippings...like some sort of toy collection. I went out there and told him it was disgusting and that he needed to throw away the toenails--and he was actually sad about it.
Some day Boston is going to read this and want to throw up. So while your kids are collecting Transformers, and Barbies...my kids will be collecting..toenails? YUCK!

Bring Your Best Gift....

My friend Heather called me a while ago and asked if she should throw a Christmas party with our friends. I told her it was my turn to host a party because everyone else has done the last few and it was my turn. So the deal was she was going to do the inviting so I just had to have the house.

So every year we play the gift game where each couple brings one $10 gift and one white elephant. Well a couple years ago my friend Katie (bless her heart) decided that a box of chocolates would be a great $10 gift (I think she even went over the $10 limit for the chocolates). I can't remember what her white elephant was but that's beside the point. So the game went on and we were at the end and noticed that we were missing a $10 gift. So I speak up and say wait a minute whose $10 gift have we not opened? No one responded...then Katie came around the corner with a red face and said "Ok everyone I know you didn't like the chocolates but that was MY $10 gift." We all about PEED our pants laughing because everyone was treating it like an unwanted white elephant....a few people tried to back-track and tell her it was a great gift we just had already had so much candy that we didn't want it. So Katie's ego was a little bruised and she came this year with a little anxiety about her gift. She even went over the limit trying to impress us with her gift. A few people fought over it, and even her white elephant was a hit. (I wish I had a pic to show...it was pretty darn funny.) So good job Katie!!! I knew you could do it!:) I hope you enjoy our white elephant...the 90210 first season on DVD. (Yes that was our white elephant)

Lots of food, laughed a ton...doesn't get much better! Thank you Cyndy for taking the kids!

PS Katie, I hope you know I'm just giving you a hard time! We all love you and you make the party so much fun! We missed you while you were in Spokane!

Christmas Cards

One of my very favorite things about Christmas time is getting Christmas cards in the mail. I always get excited to get the mail...for some reason I always have this hope that I'm going to win a million dollars or something. But I'm always let down because it's just bills and ads. But at Christmas time I may not get my million dollars, but I do get Christmas cards and it is so fun! My only complaint is my mail person is always late! I wait until about 4:00pm or 5:00pm before the mail even gets here...and sometimes it's even later.

So my mother in law is so fabulous she wanted the grand-kids to all have matching sweaters for her Christmas card picture, and she bought them the cute sweaters they are wearing in this picture. I need to get a copy of the whole family so you can see how cute it looks with all of the grand-kids. That will be my next update!

Getting Creative.

So I know I'm a total nerd, but I have been looking for a specific skirt for a while now. So after shopping for the kids on Black Friday, my mother in law and I searched EVERYWHERE for the skirt I made up in my head. With no luck I decided I had to do something. So I took an old skirt and made some changes and TA-DA! (Thank you mom for doing the actual "leg work") I was so excited about it. No one can quite appreciate this, unless they spent the time looking for the skirt that doesn't exist. Anyway I also made my necklace. Do you know how hard it was to find a black flower??? I spray painted one black until I found this. Now I can put my spray paint away.
PS I am getting ready to do Christmas cards. If you didn't get one last year or you have since moved, email me your new address @ elizmk@aol.com.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today I must have been all out of my norm, because I FORGOT to take a family picture...(while we looked decent). So right before taking the kids up for bath time it hit me, I HAVEN'T TAKEN OUR ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DAY PICTURE!!! So here we are, I already changed into sweats and my kids...let's just say they had fun playing at Grandma Cyndy's house.

We had a great time. It was with Gentry's family this year, and after dinner we headed to the theater to see BOLT. It was cute, but I don't get the 3D thing, is it just a fancy way of saying the movie is going to be a little fuzzy and hard to watch? Maybe it was the greasy finger prints on my glasses from my sweet children. Does anyone else agree with me? It was fun being there with Gentry's parents and cousins though. And there were a few moments I actually laughed out loud. (Although some may say I'm an easy laugher.)

GOOD FOOD, GOOD COMPANY, GREAT DAY!!!...and I easily inhaled a million calories, but luckily it doesn't count cause it's a holiday! Thanks Cyndy for the yummy dinner.

I need to get to bed early because its shopping bright and early!

Side note: I saw Twilight again...3rd time it just gets better! (Should I be embarrassed to admit I'm obsessed?)

TWILIGHT THE MOVIE (sigh)

I LOVED IT I lOVED IT I LOVED IT! AHHHH (SIGH)

So I met my neighbors, or should I say neighborhood:) at Red Robin for a little Twilight pre-movie get together. It was really fun. I was so excited for the movie and I can't wait to go back tonight with Gentry. If you haven't seen it YOU MUST GO!!! If you didn't like it, don't tell me because I'm pretty sure our friendship will end:)

My only complaint is it needed to be LONGER!!! HAPPY DAYS!!!

Papa's Gonna Buy You A "Mopping" Bird...

I'll explain the title in just a minute...

So Gentry and I went to VEGAS for a couple of days to go to the Pool and Spa convention. I was excited to go not really because of the convention, but for the time away with just us..no kids. Our business partners Nick and Mignon came too. We had so much fun together. I wanted to take some pictures of us while we were there, but none of them turned out because Gentry has a horrible habit of closing one eye. Now at least I do it with both eyes:) (squinty eyes= genetic defect) So Mignon LITERALLY took tons of pictures trying to get one with both eyes open but this is the best we got. I laughed so hard I about peed my pants every time we took a picture because Gentry couldn't keep his eye open.

Meanwhile my kids split the time between my Mom and my Mother-in-law. They had a great time and didn't want us to come home. I was talking to my mom on the phone and she was telling me that Brock was having a meltdown at bedtime, so she was singing him "Hush, Little Baby" over and over and over...until she thought he was asleep...but he was still awake and asked her to continue singing. So this morning I was driving to Costco and I hear the kids singing "hush little baby don't say a work papa's gonna buy you a mopping bird." I didn't correct them because I thought it was cute.

Thanks to my Mom and Cyndy for watching the kids! We had a FABULOUS time!..Is it too soon to go back?

Missing Treats

Boston came home from pre-school and couldn't find his chocolate treats anywhere. He was totally upset about it and I was trying to help him find it. My searching stopped when I took a look at Brock's mouth. (Keep in mind Brock chose a red sucker for his treat.) I asked Brock if he ate it and he said "No!" So let's let the jury decide this one.

"GRANDMA'S PAYBACK"

Cyndy took the kids for a few hours the other day so I could have a break from them to work. It was so nice. I didn't have a messy house when I got done.

Gentry went to pick them up and they were sporting these new T-shirts along with a few new stuffed animals. (My personal favorite, ha ha.) They had such a great time they couldn't stop talking about going to Target and picking out stuff from the dollar part. You'd think I've never bought them anything before. I think they thought it was cool to have a little "date" with Grandma. They had so much fun that by the time they got home they were ready to sleep..which Brock sat on the couch and really did fall asleep. Alyssa on the other hand had to miss out on an hour of playing because she had gymnastics, so she had a melt down and Grandma Cyndy gave in and let her stay a little longer which turned into an all night-er.
Thanks Cyndy the kids had a blast!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALYSSA!

My little girl is growing up! I can't believe she is already 7. She is such a good kid, and so helpful with the boys.

For her birthday Gentry and I decided to get her a karaoke machine. She LOVES it. She's been singing all morning long. I think I'm having just about as much fun with it too.

I told her we weren't going to have a party this year, so I let her take two friends to the movie and lunch. Gentry is taking them because she didn't want her brothers to come with her. (I think it makes her feel more special.) So me and the boys get to go to the Relief Society "Super Saturday".

Happy Birthday Alyssa we love you!

Going to the Boat

So on Tuesday I decided to take the boys with me to go and vote. I called them in from outside and said "Boston and Brock let's go vote!" They came running in and were super excited. They even got buckled in the car without any arguments.

A few minutes later we get to the school to vote, and the boys were acting super disappointed. They went inside the school with me and they were looking around for something, then they turned to me and asked "Where's the boat mom?"(Now I know why they were so excited to come along with me)...the people gave them an I voted sticker and they seemed to be okay with the sticker. Too bad there was no boat after all.

Second funny story, I wanted to write before I forgot about this. I have a horrible memory:

I was talking loudly(some may refer to it as yelling.) And asked the boys who colored on the walls upstairs, and also who put their boogers on the wall. No one fessed up so I turned to Brock. (Mother's instinct I guess.) He looked right at me and said "I didn't do it mom!"...So I turned away completely annoyed that he was lying and he yells "Okay I did it, Geez." I had to turn the corner because it made me laugh for some weird reason.

Another thing my boys will do when I'm asking who the "culprit" was is they will actually raise their hand and say "Um, will I get in trouble if I did it?"...that's another hint for who actually did it.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is mine and Gentry's 9th anniversary! Wow how time flies, but at the same time I feel like we've been together forever. I couldn't ask for a better husband. We have so much fun together and he always keeps me laughing. Whether it's breaking the shower curtain while trying to spy on me while I'm taking a shower (Yes he did that last week, then tried to fake another injury so I wouldn't get mad.) or just playing pranks with the kids he always knows how to make me laugh. He is my best friend and I feel so lucky to be his wife.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABE! I LOVE YOU!!!
