Staycation 2011

The kids kept asking when we were having our "staycation" so I told them it was this week.  My niece Kate came to stay with us for a week so it worked out perfect.

We went to Cowabunga Bay.

We went to Chick-fil-a (big surprise), I didn't take a picture though.

We went to see Mr. Popper's Penguins with my sister in law Michelle and her two girls.
Luckily Gentry wasn't even tired during the movie.

We went to Lagoon for stake Lagoon Day.

Gentry decided to be brave and try Tilt-a-Whirl....it didn't go over so well, so he took pictures for the next few rides.
 Gotta love the Tidal Wave!
The log ride was fun, and it was a really nice warm day.
I told Gentry it was his turn to go on a ride...it happened to be Wicked, can you tell how excited he was.  (He ended up liking it and said he was glad he went on the ride after all.)
By about 2:00 Gentry and I were about to collapse.  We were so tired, but we hung in there until about 6:00...which is impressive for us.  The kids said this "staycation" was even better than last year.

When The Nielson's Come To Town....

When Adrienne comes to town there are always a few things we have to do.  Go to lunch, (several times) a little shopping, swimming, and something fun for the kids.  Mission accomplished!

Adrienne and her kids are some of the easiest house guests to have.  We always have plenty to chat about and the kids...well we don't see them much.  They are usually too busy playing.

We were going to take the kids to Incredible Pizza because we bought a coupon on City Deals...but they changed their name and now they don't accept the coupons.  We were so mad we weren't about to support the business.  So off to good ol' Chuck E Cheese.  The kids thought it was awesome because no one else was even there.  It's like they had the place to themselves.

I love that the kids spend their tokens on pictures of themselves.  Boston told me that Chuck E actually draws the picture in the machine.

Everyday Alyssa played school with the kids.  She actually puts a lot of effort in to her "lessons"  the kids loved it, and asked when school was everyday.

Until next time...

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Gentry is the best Dad my kids could ever ask for.  He is always having fun with the kids.  They can't wait til Dad gets home.  When we went to St. George the kids kept asking when Dad was coming, and when he got there they all screamed like he was a celebrity.

I was texting my friend and after a few texts she said "You actually made that your signature?"  And I couldn't figure out what she was talking about until I went back to re-read the texts I had sent.  Gentry had "hijacked" my phone and changed the settings so that every text I sent it ended with "Love the hottie XOXO" I about died and had to call her to explain.  He is always doing some sort of prank.

He is such a fun and caring Dad.  I couldn't ask for a better husband!  I love you babe!

My kids lucked out to have two fun Grandpas.  Whenever they would get home from school they would ask me if "Grandpa could play".  I am so glad they have such a good relationship with both of their Grandpas.
 Happy FATHER'S DAY!!!

St. George 'n Vegas

The Hogan family was nice enough to invite us to their condo in St. George.  Once again we had a blast.

As soon as we got to the condo, the kids were ready to swim.  The condo was awesome.  Plenty of room, not to mention it looked out on the pool.

Kristin and I left to grab some food and drinks at Walmart and I ran back to get more drinks while she stayed to pay.  I ran past these people and I recognized them but I couldn't figure out why, until on my way back I realized they were from the show Sister Wives.  I had to stop and tell them I watched them on TV.  They were all super nice.  It was probably one of the most fun/random things on the trip.
We took a walk to the shops nearby.  It was nice and hot:)  Loved the warm weather.
There were a ton of fun parks.  We took dinner to eat at the park a few different times.  The kids loved it.
Kristin and I drove down alone, and our husbands met us a day later.  I missed Gentry, so we were all excited when they met up with us at the park.
We went to Vegas for a little shopping and food.  I've never been to the Palm's fajita bar, but the Hogan's showed us all around.  We loved it.  As we pulled up to the hotel Boston asked why they had a "Bunny" on the hotel.  He thought it was cool.  We got a good laugh.
As we were leaving the hotel a guy came up to me and gave me a bunch of toy stuff for the kids.  Ping Pong balls and paddles, Velcro mitt set, and a suction ball set.  The kids got a lot of use out of all of it.

I've never been to Circus Circus in the game area, but I have to say it was actually really fun.  The kids won lots of stuffed animals and they couldn't have been happier.  I think it was the highlight of the trip.

We were all cheering Jack on with this game.  I love Boston's face, he was so worried.  Jack won the "cool" prize.

Then back to more swimming...it was so fun, and warm!!!
Gentry did a little work while we were gone, but he made time to play and have fun too.

 We already wanna go back!

Inventions From The Kids

The kids are always up to something.  Whether it's writing a song or building a go-cart.  They make me laugh.

The kids built a bus.  They wanted to sleep with it for a few nights until I told them it was garbage day and the box had to go.
This is just a dinner at Rock Creek Pizza.  I'm so glad we pay for the buffet because Brock totally gets his money's worth.  Olives and Goldfish.  Good Choice Brock.
The kids were so proud of the Go-Cart.  I only got Brock in this pic though.

I love to see how they think.  They crack me up.
