The Hunger Games

My friend Allison...as I've mentioned before is the WORLDS BEST PARTY PLANNER.  And once again she planned another fun party for the opening night of The Hunger Games.  I wasn't as excited as Gentry to see the movie, but I was pleasantly surprised and I really liked it.  (Although it's not my favorite genre of movie.)

We had a yummy Hunger Games themed dinner...and then off to the movie!  Gentry somewhere along the way hurt his knee, and by the end of the night literally couldn't even walk to the car...so me being the wife of the year, went and got the car and picked him up.

Only Katie would come to the party dressed up.  I was peeing my pants laughing.  She cracks me up...unfortunately she didn't make it to the movie (She saw it the night before.)

St. Patrick's Day

So I don't normally do anything exciting for St. Patrick's Day....and this year was no different.  I was doing a client's hair (Jenny Nemelka) and she didn't think that was very nice of me.  And before I knew it...the Leprechaun came and left the kids a little surprise.  Porter and Max were over, and the Leprechaun even remembered them.  The kids were ECSTATIC to say the least.  So maybe I'll change my tune and plan something next year.

The kids all made Thank You cards...for the Leprechaun of course!

Sunday Pics

My kids aren't dressed, clean with hair combed very often.  So when that happens I try to take a picture of two.

Great Grandma Mikesell

Today was Gentry's grandma's funeral Mariam Mikesell.  (Kim's Mom.)  It was a sad day, but there is a part of us that is excited that she is with her husband and two children that have already passed on.  She was such a sweet calm person.  She reminded me a lot of my father in law Kim.  Genuinely nice.

Kim spoke at the funeral and it was fun hearing stories about her that I hadn't heard before.  They also had all of the great grand kids sing "I Am A Child Of God".  It was really sweet to see all the kids singing.  They also asked me to sing, and I sang "Like Jesus".
Gentry was a pallbearer.

When Adrienne Came to Play...

Adrienne came up Sunday afternoon.  I was so excited because we never feel like we have enough time to do all that we want and this time it was just her and Locklyn so I was sure we could fit everything in.  See the problem with that is we ALWAYS try to do too much.  It's just that we have so much fun we can't fit it all in.  I think we could have easily filled a few more days, so I guess she is going to have to come back soon...(Sorry Adrienne, it's just what we gotta do...so much to do, so little time.)

We might have spent a little time at Chick-fil-a...(Don't act so surprised.)
Adrienne had a quick Dr. appointment so I played with Locklyn in the car.  She loves me.
(Adrienne says she loves whoever feeds her, so I fed her a time or two...girl after my own heart.)
We did a little bit of shopping.   We had to check out the new store by my house, Gordmans.  The workers are all really nice...but, well I'll let you make your own call on  the workers.  Let's just say it took A VERY long time to get checked out.  And we were telling him how to ring us up.  But it was fun anyway.
We went to the movie This Means War...and laughed our guts out.
And we let Locklyn get her ears pierced.  This is the "before".  She is very similar to how Alyssa was in the fact that you can't see her ears unless she is turned to the side.  (Maybe that's why I love her so much.)
I don't think she seemed to mind it....
The "after"....she looks happy to me!
We maybe had to take a drive to Salt Lake...we thought Locklyn could get a little rest in, while Adrienne and I looked for a billboard some guy told her he thought she was in.  I wish we could have taken a picture of it as we were driving by...so I could do a side-by-side.  But instead we visited Gentry at his work...and showed him Locklyn's earrings.  Because we knew he couldn't wait to see them until he got home.  And that just about sums up our week together!
UNTIL NEXT TIME!

Alyssa's Piano Recital

Alyssa had her piano recital last night.  Saying I was nervous for her was an understatement.  I had been getting on her case about her practicing the last week or so, and I wasn't sure that she was ready.  So I felt like I was holding my breath the whole time.  She actually did really well.  I was really proud of her.  I guess there was no need to worry. She said she was nervous, but I honestly couldn't even tell.
GOOD JOB ALYSSA!!  WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!
She has the best teacher around!  (My good friend Angie White)
Some REALLY supportive brothers...and they're not even annoying.  Although, as soon as she got done they both leaned over to me and said "Mom did she mess up, or do a good job?"  Like I said...VERY SUPPORTIVE.

Adrienne came ALL the way from Blanding.  (I won't mention the bazillion stores we shopped at, because we all know she didn't come to visit for the shopping.)
Alyssa's good friend Lexi....who happens to be six months older than Alyssa, but you'd never guess.

During the actual performance!  Look at that skill:)...and her boots are pretty cute too!
