New Kitty

Brock had his last All-star game on Monday.  He decided to play with a broken finger and all.  They did really well.  They won the first game after a double inning over time.  Then they went to play the second game and everything just fell apart.  They lost the second game and were out of the tournament.  We were really proud of how well they did.  They were the underdog team, being the only "C" team in the tournament.  The coaches were great too!  Brock really liked them.
Boston and Brock had scout camp this week too.  They missed the first day of camp because Brock had his game, and Boston didn't want to go while the cousins were here visiting.
Cooper, JT and Kate have stayed with us for a week.  I was a little nervous to have 6 kids for a week but they have all been really good.  They have walked over to the District about every day.  They buy the most random things.  Boston came home with a brush (he has a buzz) and Alyssa bought deodorant and a toothbrush holder.  But they all seem excited about their purchases.

This picture makes me laugh at how different girls and boys can be at times.
Chick-fil-a had their dress like a cow day.  You get a free meal if you dress like a cow....so that's what we did of course!

The last month we had a cat show up at our house.  It just stayed because we fed it, and I couldn't find the owner.  So I decided to take it to the vet and get shots for it.  When we took it in the vet said that it was having kidney failure and it was blind in both eyes.  So my kids all cried when he suggested we put it down.  I felt bad too, but I thought it was cruel leaving the cat to live in misery.

The next day the kids convinced us we needed a new kitty.  Gentry found this one online.  She is a Napoleon, which is half Persian and half Munchkin.  We think she's pretty cute.
MEET DAISY!!

These glasses are another one of the purchases Boston made at the District.  They spent some of their birthday money there.

Funny story:  While we were waiting in the vets office Boston farted.  I got mad because it stunk and I didn't want the vet thinking it was me.  So Boston quickly replies "Just tell the vet it was the cat!"  I died laughing because he was so quick to respond.
I took the kids to Seven Peaks.  It was fun and luckily we got there pretty early because it got pretty crowded.
One last story.  The boys got nerf guns for a birthday party earlier in the week.  They left them out yesterday so I picked it up and aimed it at Brock.  He started to run away and then said. "Actually I'm not worried, you won't hit me you're a bad aimer."   So three shots later, I never hit him.  I guess he's right.  I need to work on my aim.

Brock's All-Star Team

Brock was chosen to try out for All-stars, and I told him that was really exciting but there were a LOT of really good baseball players so he probably wouldn't make it.  But the next day when the coach called and told me he made the team we were super excited.

After the first All-Star meeting, they explained to all the parents that All-stars is about winning, not about letting every kid play.  So naturally I told Brock he probably wouldn't play much but that this would be great practice for him to practice with other really good players.  And at the first game he started and played the whole game, and the other two games after that.  I guess I just like to prep him just in case. :)

After winning the first two games, they went on to State....
But while practicing before their first State game, Brock broke his finger and didn't get to play in the game.  We were so sad and so was he.
We were really proud of their team.  They are the Riverton "C" team.  They had a practice game with the "B" team and they actually beat the "B" team.  They were the only "C" team to make it to state.  We thought that was really cool!

4th Of July

The 4th of July is one of our favorite holidays.  Gentry made sure to take work off so he could join us for the day.  We started it off at Diving For Dollars at the Riverton pool.
The kids all took part in the Cannon Ball contest too.
Brock met Carter on his baseball team, and Carter's brother Troy is the boys age so they all have fun together. (Brock, Carter, Troy, Boston)
The kids had a blast because so many of their friends were there.
Alyssa and Bailee
I helped Janay get the games ready.
Kim and Cyndy came to join the craziness.

The kids all joined the tanning contest.

Then it was back to our house at noon for the BBQ.

My Dad was in the hospital with an infection around his heart that went septic.  My Mom was there with him, and stopped by for a little bit before going back again.  We missed having them here for the holiday.

After the BBQ we took the kids to see Despicable Me 2.  It was a cute movie.  Then we headed to the hospital to visit my Dad.  They have a really nice restaurant area on the patio and we got the kids some food and watched the fireworks from the patio.  It was a great view!
