When Adrienne Comes...

Adrienne came for a quick visit this last weekend.  We always love when they come to stay with us.  The kids had spent hours prepping for the "school" they played for hours and hours.  They pretended like they were in 2nd grade....totally growing up and skipping 1st grade.

Adrienne and I went shopping for a little bit.  I've never been more excited to have her pregnant....We got to park front row!!
We stopped at the District cause they were doing a bunch of fun kids activities.
The kids got their faces painted and even scored some free popcorn!

The kids wanted to roast some marshmallows.

They went swimming a few times and played in the sandbox.  They even played on the swings...remember "Spider".   Gentry is convinced they will be embarrassed some day by this picture.

Family Pictures

Peter Loosli took our family pictures again.  I can't say enough how fabulous he is.  We went to Albion Basin.  So beautiful up there.   Perfect temperature too!  He took so many fun pictures it was hard to decide which ones to post on the blog:)
Jennifer and I had our pictures taken about 20 years ago...I still have my copy on my wall....so we decided to take another one of just us.  I love this girl!!!

Hobble Creek Half

Last year I didn't think I would ever talk Gentry into running a mile with me.  But since we started CrossFit, it's been whole other story.  We went for a run while on vacation, and then on the 4th of July the gym was closed so Gentry went running with me again.  We got to talking and I convinced him (I'm still not sure how I did this) to run a half marathon with me.  AND HE SAID YES!
Angie, Me, and Brenda
We didn't really train, I ran a few times with my friends...but he didn't run at all (other than the 2 times with me) so luckily we survived.  Gentry also said "I'm glad it's over and I will NEVER do that again!"...so I think it's safe to say it was his first and LAST half marathon. But hey, WE FINISHED!!!!  Our time was 2:05...not too bad, we wanted to finish in under 2...but if I'm being honest we were just glad to finish!

Angie ran ahead of us and finish in 1:55.  GOOOO Angie!

The kids were so excited for us to run because they got to sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa Mikesell's house.  They were counting down the days for the entire week.  (Glad they missed us:)

On a side note, Alyssa is always asking me to french braid her hair.  (I don't do french braids, I make everyone else do them for me) and since I tell her I can't do them she decided to teach herself.  I was so proud.  Maybe she can give me lessons:)

Busy week

Brock started collecting cans a few months ago.  Thanks to mine and Gentry's addiction to Diet Coke/Diet Dr. Pepper and the help of Grandparents...and cans he could find laying around in the neighborhood.  He struck it rich.  Yep, on the way home he wanted to stop at the D.I. I think he thought he could find something good.  When he didn't find anything at the D.I. he begged us to take him to Target where he found a skate board for $10 and a pair of socks and cotton candy from the dollar section.  He couldn't be happier.
They emptied all of the bags into little piles throughout the garage....I was a little irritated to say the least:)
The kids wanted to count the cans before we turned them in....cause that seemed like a "good idea" to them.
The kids have all started collecting cans after seeing how much money Brock made.  (He made $13.20 which might as well be a million dollars to my kids.)

Gentry started his new job at Nate Wade Subaru this week.  He says he really likes it so far!

We went to my Mom's house for the August birthday dinner.  It was Max's (aka Buzz) birthday...but she was out of candles so why not try Q-tips right?
