The Worlds Quickest Visit.

Adrienne came to town for a visit.  Literally we only got to hang out for a few hours.  But it was long enough to visit at lunch, take the kids to the Dollar Tree, and swim.  I mean what kid wouldn't want to swim in cloudy 50 degree weather?  (Seriously Adrienne and I were freezing just watching them swim.  Kids are oblivious to temperature.)

Adrienne promised to come back soon and stay for a while.  I'm gonna have to hold her to it.

Brock was actually snorkeling.  I was pretty impressed.  We just gave it to him for his birthday and he seems to like it.
Jett had a little panic attack.  He started yelling "Hey guys where are my goggles?"  I looked at him confused, then I heard him say "Oh they're on my head."  I had to laugh because I can totally see myself doing the same thing.

Alysssa's Spring Performance

Alyssa has had a little bit of a hard time with gymnastics lately.  She fell a couple weeks ago and hasn't wanted to go back to gymnastics.  Needless to say it's been a battle getting her there every week.  So the last few classes, she's gotten back into the swing of things.  I was worried at her performance she would get scared and not to the full routine, but she surprised us and did such a good job.  We were so proud of her!

Thanks to Grandma Cyndy Alyssa even got flowers after her performance.  Alyssa was THRILLED to say the least.
Good Job Alyssa we are so proud of you!

Chick-fil-a Friendship...

Brock, Jack, Boston, Paige, Alyssa and Ellie.
 Caiser, Kristin, ME, and Gentry
So we met some friends who like Chick-fil-a as much as we do.  It became a joke seeing each other all the time, Alyssa was friends with their daughter.  So we would always visit at dinner, and one day we decided to hang out.  Funny thing is we found that we had a lot in common.  The kids get along perfect...who could ask for more?  We have a blast hanging out with these guys.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROCK AND BOSTON

My babies turned 7 today!  I can't believe it.  This morning they wanted to go to Chick-fil-a for breakfast.  They had to tell the workers that it was their birthday and I heard the worker ask if they were in 2nd grade..then he guessed 1st?....nope Mom held them back so they are only in Kindergarten.  They told me the other day that Ellie in their class is only 5..."but that's ok huh Mom!"  As if Ellie is the weird one.  Hmmmm.

The boys didn't really have anything specific that they asked for this year.  Gentry and I had a hard time buying for them.  We ended up getting them little motorized scooters.  They loved them!  I have to say the tape and staplers were a close second.  (My boys love doing crafts and are always using up all of my tape and staples, so I've had to hide them so I have it when I need it.)

The boys wanted to invite a bunch of friends.  I told them they could thinking we could have a big ol' swimming party mixed in with a little bouncy house.  Too bad the weather was CRAP today.  So last minute indoor games it was.  Literally all morning the boys were praying for the rain to stop...which it did, unfortunately a little too late.  It was still fun though.  They had a really good turn out, and they loved having their friends here.

I tried for the Pirates theme.  It didn't turn out quite like I had hoped.  The treat bags I bought all broke before we could even put anything in them.  The compasses all shattered once the Pinata broke open....not to mention the pinata broke before all the kids got a chance to swing at it....oh well you can't win 'em all...or any for that matter.  Hopefully the kids didn't notice.  (yeah right.)

The cake was chocolate (the boys picked it out) thanks Costco for making ginormous cakes so that I don't have to.  We had hotdogs, chips and some fruit for dinner.  The kids seemed happy!  I got a bunch of pictures and the kids got spoiled by their friends.
Boston blew the candles out first...leaving only 1 for Brock.

So Brock started crying and Boston was saying he didn't know what the issue was because we re-lit them just for him.
So to settle Brock down we let him blow out 7 candles on his piece of cake.
Notice the plates we used for dessert were left over from Christmas.  I totally spaced buying dessert plates....but the dinner plates I don't have a picture of.  Go figure.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOSTON AND BROCK!!!

Kindergarten Program 'n More

This last week we had the boys' kindergarten program.  I was actually a little sad because they are going to first grade now.  Time flies!
The program was hilarious.  Both boys got pretty excited to sing.  They did a song about Santa in Hawaii and they did some hula motions with it.  Boston had it going on!  I couldn't help but giggle at him shaking his hips.  Boston was also very proud that he could recite Peyton C.'s lines.  (I was impressed cause he doesn't usually memorize much.)  Brock was also singing his little heart out.  I was a proud Mom:)

We finally had a decent day with the weather here so we opened the pool.  I was so excited to have some warm air!!  Can you tell how closely I was watching the kids?  In my defense...Gentry was here too. (he was taking this picture.)
Gentry took the kids to Chick-fil-a Friday night, while I was helping at a wedding dinner.  They had a bounce house, and games...my kids thought it was awesome.
 Brock working the hula hoop!
Brent, Allison's husband set up a surprise party for Allison's 30th birthday. Super fun!

We met for breakfast for Allison's birthday on Thursday.  I love the gift Heather gave her.  It's 30 dumb dumb suckers and she wrote '30 SUCKS'.  I thought it was such a cute idea.

A VERY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I love Mother's Day.  In fact I love whoever invented Mother's Day.  It's my favorite day, next to my birthday of course.  I love having an excuse to have your kids and husband be extra nice and helpful.

I got a new calling in church, and I'm now in charge of the sacrament musical numbers.  This calling couldn't be more perfect because I love having musical numbers.  I would actually prefer to have no speakers and just music.  So when the bishopric called me to my new calling I said an enthusiastic "YES!"

So with my new calling I had to have a musical number for Mother's Day.  The primary hadn't practiced any songs so naturally my next option was Alyssa and her cute friends...and my friend Angie to accompany.  They did a great job, and the speakers did a great job too.

I love the gifts that the kids gave me.  They crack me up, and they are so sweet.

Happy Mother's Day to my Mom, and Mother in law Cyndy.  We love you both so much!
