WAHOO!!!

Once again you all get to hear me talk about my obsession, but this is good. So I was totally bummed while on the authors website when I saw who they cast for Edward and Bella. But now I am so much more excited to see the movie. Look at this picture. The other pictures just didn't work for me. I wanted Jake Ryan (remember from Sixteen Candles) to play Edward, but we all know he is too old now...so this guy will do! Hopefully they fix his hair. I like the messy look, but it's a little too fluffy for me.

Hair Dresser in the Making!

Alyssa just went off track this week and I decided that it was ok to let her try doing her own hair. She has been practicing doing her own pony tails, but I haven't let her use a curling iron or three barrell...so today was the day. I was so proud of her. I told her to count to 5 before moving down her hair. I was cleaning the floors and listening to her count out loud. She did it ALL...even the back all by herself! I couldn't believe it. (Why didn't I try this sooner...think how much time I could've saved.) Yeah Alyssa!

SNOWED IN!!!

It was my friend Adrienne's birthday today, and we had talked about going to lunch at Chick-Fil-A, but with the weather as crappy as it was we thought it would be smarter to stay home. ( I didn't think the day would ever come where I thought "going out" meant going to Chick-Fil-A or McDonalds...WOW! Welcome to motherhood.) Anyway so the kids were bummed so they thought it would be a good idea to make cupcakes for her birthday. She told me not to post her picture but hopefully she'll forgive me. (According to Katie..sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.)

Dallas Weekend!

So my friend Mendee was nice enough to invite me to go to Dallas with her this last weekend. We had so much fun. Her mom owns Lighting Design and they go to Market to buy all of their lighting. Anyway they have other areas in Market that you can buy anything from accessories to furniture. We had a blast we didn't get anywhere near to seeing all of the stores, but we came home with some prizes to share. I got a little obsessed with the rings and purses. I put them on for the picture but I don't think I will normally wear them all at once because Mendee told me I look like Mr. T. Our next trip is going to be in New York I think...well at least that sounds fun.

FINISHED!!!

So like I promised...here is the final result with my closet organizing. I can't believe how much easier it is to see my clothes when they aren't crammed together. I love the shelves I put my shoes on so then I can still see them, but they are sort of out of the way. That was Adrienne's idea. It feels so good to have a clean closet that I am slowly working my way through my house. It makes it so much easier to have someone (who is extremely organized) there for moral support. I haven't tortured her to come back and do the rest of the house. I think my closet was the most cluttered. So hopefully I can clean my house with out calling Adrienne for advice. I told her she should do this for a living. She is so good. We even used her label maker. I love it! I might have to invest in one for me.

NEW SHIRT!

Remember how I mentioned being obsessed with the book series Twilight...well things haven't changed. I was talking to my friend Adrienne last week and I told her that my neighbor got a shirt on the author's website, so we took a look and both decided we wanted to make our own shirts. So long story short...Adrienne went shopping and bought the stuff to make these shirts. I tried to be helpful, but I'm no good. She ended up making them. She wrote on them with her bare hand! No stencils or stamps...FREE HAND! I about died! I wanted to scream I was so excited. (My ego is still a little bruised from the cheer leading days when our advisor wouldn't let me make posters because of my horrible handwriting.)

Anyway to explain the shirt for those of you who don't recognize the saying. In the first book (pg 274) Edward says to Bella while they are in the meadow.."And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.." Bella replies with "What a stupid lamb," and then Edward finishes with "What a sick, masochistic lion."

We thought this would be good for our shirts because you wouldn't understand unless you had read the book. The bracelet with the heart represents the braclet she gets in the 3rd book. We didn't put a wolf on it though because we decided it felt too much like we were betraying Edward. You have to see these shirts in real life. The pictures don't show the BLING of the sparkly diamonds and silver writing. I have to give it to you Adrienne...YOU ROCK! THANKS!

Becoming Organized!

I am so excited about this post. The old me used to throw everything away. My mom never gave me any of my old things because she was sure I would get rid of them. Somewhere in the last few years (I'll blame my twins:) I became a hoarder. I have held on to everything. I get rid of stuff here and there, but not like I used to. Then yesterday it hit me. I was talking to my friend...(think Monica on Friends, because she is abnormally organized..I mean that in a good way.) Was telling me how she doesn't have any junk drawers...(I was trying to think of a drawer in my house that doesn't have junk.) Anyway I took her to my closet. She was probably repulsed, but was nice enough to tell me she could help. So I decided yesterday to get a head start and get rid of things I don't need before she came back again. So this is the progress I have done on my OWN! I will keep you updated for the grand finally. Oh and get this...she even has a label maker! I am going to be so organized. Wahoo! Notice the garbage bags...9 filled and ready for the D.I.!

Yes...it's that good.

So I have to laugh. Even Gentry is reading the Twilight books. It started out that I was reading them out loud to him while we were driving, and now even he is addicted. He has been told by his friend that he is officially the "gayest straight guy he knows". I actually like having him interested so I can talk details with him. He was at church on Sunday (he teaches the 15 year old class) and he was asking his class if they had read them. Of course all the girls said yes, so he was asking them what they thought of the books. I asked him if he told them I made him read them and he said "no." I asked what the other teacher said...and his wife was addicted so he laughed that Gentry got caught up in it. Hopefully he is taking notes so he can be a little more like Edward...hee hee.

Twilight Detox

So first of all I am writing this to push the picture of me on my bike a little lower...(I get a little embarrassed when I check my blog for comments and see myself.) And I am OBSESSED with the stupid book series Twilight. I know all of you have already read them so you can understand my pain. I feel like I have to go through some sort of DETOX. Why do I love these books? Does anyone have any good books for me to read? I am so mad because I finished all three books in a matter of a couple days...and now I am supposed to wait until the fall of 2008? (Yes I realize we are in 2008, but you have to admit it sounded more dramatic by adding the year) COME ON!!! How long does it take to print a book?

So if you haven't read the books yet...now is the time. I am not much of a reader unless it's a short article in US Weekly, but I loved them so hurry and read up!...and leave me a comment on another good romantic novel. (Keep in mind that I suffer from ADD/ADHD or something like that so it has to be really good because I have the attention span of a dog:)

My New Bike

So I know this is so nerdy, me posting a picture of myself..but I was so excited this morning. Gentry left with the kids and said he had to run something to one of his employees. I didn't think twice about it (I was just excited he offered to take the kids). Anyway about 30 minutes later he came home and the kids were yelling "Mom...we bought you a new bike!" He was a little disappointed that they told me before he could even pull it out of the truck. I was ecstatic! It was a little cold for riding a bike today but I still had to give it a try. I can't wait for spring so me and the kids can all go riding bikes together. I am so excited to have a bike...and a pink one! It doesn't get any better than pink! Although I think I need to get a basket for the front. Thank you babe, I love it!

Sledding

Ok so I did it! I finally went sledding with my kids. Yes I know you are all shocked. I don't like the snow, speeds or anything where I might get injured. Anyhow I am so bummed I didn't get a picture to prove this because I actually participated...going down the hill on the sled and all! I have to admit I had fun. My feet were freezing (apparently Steve Madden doesn't know anything about the snow) but other than that we had a good old time! Note to anyone who is planning a sledding trip...I actually think stilettos are a good idea..they dig into the icy snow preventing a fall. Ha ha.

Bowling

We decided to take the kids bowling for the first time. They loved it. They actually really got in to it. Alyssa was so excited because she won. I think her final score was 51? Anyway the kids loved it. Just a side note..my kids think that when I ask them to smile they should close their eyes. Maybe they learned that from me because I have such squinty eyes. They are probably thinking in their head...Mom is going to be so proud I'm smiling just like her...ha ha.
