Jazz Game, Adrienne Came to Visit, and Happy Valentines Day!

The boys got Jazz ticket for playing Jr. Jazz and each kid got to take a parent.  So Max also got two tickets but he was having ear surgery that day and I volunteered to take Porter if we could have the extra ticket for Alyssa.  It worked out perfect!  We all got to go and Porter was really excited to go too!
We got to the game a few hours early.  The kids were really excited to get some autographs!

Adrienne came in to town for the last couple days before the kids went back on track.  They always have a blast together.  We told them we would take them to Classic, but after arriving at Classic we had to leave because it was so insanely over crowded.  The kids were super bummed but we ended up taking them to the Dollar store and letting them pick out two items each....they were happy about that.
This is the little Gumball Machine craft we made.  My client told me about it and we thought it would be fun for the kids.

The kids love making Valentines every year....and it's probably one of the most dreaded things for me to do....

Boston made this Valentine for me.
Alyssa made this Valentine for me and Gentry
The kids spent the night with Kim and Cyndy and Kassie's kids.  They loved it, and it was nice going out with Gentry.  We ended up going with our neighbors Trent and Mendee.  We drove up to Salt Lake and ate at the City Creek Nordstrom restaurant called Sixth and Pine.  It was REALLY good and it wasn't busy at all.  We might need to make that a tradition.  It was such a nice night out, I needed a stress free night!

Surprise Surprise....Happy Anniversary!!

This year it was my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary.  So we decided to have a party...and a few surprises.
Jennifer really wanted to come and so we arranged to have her come and surprise my parents.  She was supposed to get here around noon so  I thought I'd tell my Dad we wanted to go to lunch, then pick up Jennifer and go to lunch.  Unfortunately she missed her connection flight because of the bad weather.  So she didn't get here until later.  So we spent the afternoon trying to keep my Dad around...without him knowing.  We weren't sure what time Jennifer would get here because the next flight was full and she would only be on standby.  So we kept our fingers crossed hoping she would make it.  Talking to Jennifer on the phone, she was sobbing because she was exhausted and super sad she would be here later.  She literally watched them close the gate as she was running to make the flight.  So some guys came up to her asking what was wrong and she explained to them (as she was crying) and they offered to take her to the "Red Room" where she could let Dash walk around and they had all sorts of snacks etc.  They also tried to get her on the flight because they were high mileage fliers. As she waited for the next flight, the person next to her asked if it had been a long day....which led to more crying...and they guy next to her was ahead of her on the standby list, and he offered to let her take his spot.  She ended up getting on the flight because of him.  I was so glad there were such nice people at the airport that day.  She was exhausted because she had to be up at 3:00 AM to get here.  But so many people were nice to her.

While trying to keep my Dad busy we decided to go to Scheels and ride the ferris wheel.  Who knew it was so scary?  It was fun, but my Dad thought it was weird I just kept going around with him to different stores and I wasn't in a rush like normal.  Ha ha...little did he know we were waiting for Jennifer to fly in.

 It all started 50 years ago...FEBRUARY 1ST 1964

and 50 years later....we are celebrating at Chick-fil-a.  I was so excited to surprise them.  Chick-fil-a was so nice they got balloons and table cloths...reserved seating and even a cake!

Alyssa got home from her cheer competition just in time!

I laughed at this picture....not quite as romantic 50 years later....

Some of the Chick-fil-a  workers....they were all so nice.

(I realize these are out of order, but my internet is too slow to try and re-do this)
When we went to pick up Jennifer my Mom was done working so I told them I was driving to get their present.  They literally had no clue until we got to the airport.  Boston was so excited to come with us the other kids had cheer and basketball.

 Dash loved Frannie and Daisy.
 He liked Chick-fil-a too.

Dash had fun with all of the kids but he really loved Boston!

He loved me too! ha ha

Eventually I got him to laugh.
