4th Continued...

I was so excited this year to have almost all of my family here. Jennifer just left, or everyone would have been together. (That hasn't happened for a long time with everyone living in different states, with jobs and school they can't leave.) Anyway I took some pics of everyone and here they are. (Jennifer, this is for you so you can feel like you were here...without the chaos:) We missed you and your family!)

Sidenote story:
This morning my sis in law Michelle called to see if she could come get a dress her daughter left here and I told her to come on over. After I hung up Gentry asked who called and I told him Michelle. He said 1 "L" or 2 "L"? And I said 2 "L". Then he says which one is that? I told him Alan's wife. It's pretty funny after 7 years Gentry still doesn't know how they spell their names but he asks the question EVERY time. "1 L or 2 L?" Then I always have to say whether it's Matt's wife or Alan's wife. BOYS:)

Happy 4th of July!

Photobucket
I love the 4th of July! So many fun traditions. We always take the kids to the parade on Friday night. Then Saturday we go to Riverton pool to do all of the fun swimming stuff. My kids love Diving For Dollars. And now Gentry and I got roped into helping out. (Gentry gets to be a judge for the Cannon Ball contest, and I usually help with the Diving For Dollars stuff.) We love it, it's super fun. I love all the fun traditions. It makes holidays more fun.

Photobucket
We found a perfect spot this year to watch the parade. It was a really fun parade and the kids scored lots of candy.

Photobucket

This picture makes me laugh cause Brock just wanted to sit in the shade. Next year we will bring the umberellas we bought...but left at home.

Photobucket
While the kids were waiting for the parade to start, they asked if we would buy them these visors. They didn't wear them for more than 3 minutes, but they were excited to get them.

Photobucket
Diving for Dollars has been the kids favorite thing. They get so excited. They got over $5.00 when we combined all of their money! They spent it on beef jerky at the snack shack.

Photobucket
My nephew Porter. He broke his femur a couple weeks ago, but he has been such a sport. He's actually starting to kind of walk with his cast on.

Photobucket
Me and my prego sister in law Michele. She's having her 3rd boy...I was sure she was having a girl. Guess I don't know everything:) She was convinced it was a girl too until the 2nd ultrasound (Both ultrasounds said it was a boy, but we thought the first guy must be wrong.) I guess she's gonna have to try again for that girl:)

Photobucket
Doing my best announcing. Oh yeah and Janay and Haley were telling me what to say...Janay told me to announce "at 10:00 the F-16 jets will be flying over." So I repeated it into the mic. Then she said "or is it the F-14?" Which I repeated into the mic. After I said it, I tried to cover up with saying "Sorry guys it was bad information given to me." EMBARRASING! Hopefully no one heard. Then she told me to announce "no diving" to the kids getting ready to get their money. Only to have a guy look at us and say "well isn't it called Diving For Dollars?" But how can we call it Jump in the water and find money?...ok so no diving is involved, but it sounds better.
So you may think my job looks easy...but it can be quite stressful. LOL:)

Photobucket
My nephews Connor and Buster. They are both life guards, and swim teachers. So they were there helping out too.

FREAKY FRIDAY...err I mean Saturday.

Saturday morning Gentry gets a call from his employee saying that he ran into a power line while driving the truck and it ruined the top of the truck. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, so Gentry took some pictures with his phone and emailed them to me. He had to stay while they wrote up a police report etc. Long story short, the Qwest line was hanging way too low, so when our employee went to turn around in the street the line took the top of the truck off. He's fine, but the truck didn't do so well. Qwest is supposed to pay for the damage, but if they are anything like my monthly bills it makes me nervous. (I'm always calling customer care because my bill is never right. I hate Qwest.)
Gentry likes to refer to this pic as "our new convertible".

This is the top of the truck.

We now are proud owners of our very own convertible....jealous? Let just hope it doesn't rain.

Father's Day Follow up..

So one of my friends did a similar quiz for her kids. I thought I'd ask the kids a few questions to see what their answers were.

How old is Dad?
Alyssa--Is he older than 20? (Me: yes) um 30.
Brock--17
Boston--18

How much does Dad weigh?
Alyssa--30lbs
Boston and Brock at the same time answered 50lbs

What is Daddy's favorite thing to do?
Alyssa--Watch the Jazz games
Both boys unanimously agreed--To look on the computer for Rhino's

What is your favorite thing to do with Daddy?
Alyssa--Look at Rhinos
Boston--wrestle
Brock--"Go at the gas station and I get treats." (Dad lets them pick the more expensive treats.)

Then as the questions went on, Boston and Brock gave me the following questions to ask them. They came up with the questions and the answers both. They were really getting in to this.

What is Daddy's favorite movie?

Boston--Harry Potter (the funny thing is none of us have seen it, so I don't know why he came up with that one.)
Brock--Basketball ( I think he has movies and TV confused.)
Alyssa--um I don't know (She was the closest because he doesn't like to watch movies more than once.)

Where is Daddy's favorite place to go?

Boston--Disneyland
Brock--To get Rhinos (are we seeing a trend with the Rhino obsession?)
Alyssa--The Chinese Food place (aka Golden Tree in Riverton..I think we are the only people that actually like the place.)

What is Daddy's favorite toy?

Brock--(yes you guessed it)..Rhinos and 4 wheelers.
Boston--Basketball
Alyssa-- The Wii

We love you Daddy!

This was a couple years ago, Gentry had a brilliant idea to paint a Y on the cement.

Happy Father's Day!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
Photobucket
I had to include these pictures. Gentry took them while he was taking care of Brock, because Brock was sick...or they just wanted to get out of church??:)

I have to tell a couple funny stories about Gentry.
Gentry gets in kicks where he loves to look at stuff on KSL classifieds website. So he will have the kids come in and help him look. They get excited because he has them convinced we are getting whatever he is looking for. So the other day Gentry came home from work and Alyssa had written on a sticky note all the information for a Rhino that she wanted him to check out. She said she had to write it down on a note because she couldn't get it to go into his favorites. (I just found out they even have "my favorites" to put items you are watching.) I was laughing because he's got her trained. She wrote down the type, price, and color. She loves her Daddy! Meanwhile he was showing Brock pictures of Rhinos and there was one with a fancy paint job and Brock said "I love that one but it is too expensible."

The other day we were waiting for Alyssa to get done with gymnastics so we were all in the car and the boys started fighting and to side track them Gentry said: "That is the biggest horse I've ever seen!" I started looking everywhere, and said "Where?" He started laughing because the boys were still fighting, and I actually believed there was a huge horse in the parking lot. At least he got a good laugh. And the boys stopped fighting to see why we were laughing.

Gentry is always up to some kind of prank whether it's faking an injury or stealing someones car and calling them to tell them "I saw some guy driving it down the street." But he always makes life fun.

Happy Fathers Day to my Dad and Father in law Kim. Two of the greatest men I know! I hope you have a FABULOUS Fathers Day!

"Our Temple"

I realize this is everyone's temple, but I like to think they built it nice and close just for us:) I loved it! It was beautiful. I'm so excited to have another temple so close.

My little niece Reese decided to join the family pic. She fits in better than I do:)

My little sister Jennifer came back from Pennsylvania to visit and she arranged the tickets. (Thank you Jennifer.) I miss her, and it's so fun when she comes back in town. She is my little sister and everyone refers to her as "the perfect one"...and I can't disagree. I have to write one of my favorite stories about her.

Jennifer was in middle school (probably about 14) and my mom went to tell her good night and she was in the middle of saying a prayer and put her finger up so my mom wouldn't interrupt. My mom decided to go watch the news then come back downstairs afterward. AFTER the news was over Jennifer was STILL praying. So my mom told her she needed to finish up tomorrow night because she needed to get to bed. Jennifer is always praying for someone...well everyone. We always joke that if we really need something we have Jennifer pray for us because she has the most faith.
Photobucket
I love her little kids Chase and Reese. Her cute hubby is still finishing up school stuff so he wasn't able to make it.

Alyssa's Performance..and random stories.

Alyssa had her gymnastics performance today. I was so proud of her. She has improved so much over the last few months. I remember her starting with only knowing a cartwheel and now she has moved on to some fun tricks like back walk-over, front walk-over and she's even working on her back handsprings. (I remember being scared to do the standing back handsprings.) I couldn't believe how well the whole performance went. Her teacher is so organized and it started exactly on time and finished 55 minutes later. I can't believe how talented all the little girls are. It's a lot of hard work that's for sure!

GOOD JOB ALYSSA!!!

Alyssa is in the middle of this pic...her skinny little legs...how I wish I had them:)
Photobucket
Our parents came to watch Alyssa. My sister Jennifer was in town and she came with her kids. My mom had to leave early...right after Alyssa's performance, and Reese wanted to stay so my dad came back with her so she could watch the rest of the show. She was glued to the performance. She wouldn't look at me while I was taking her picture....stinker:)

Last night while Gentry and I were trying to clean out the garage the kids were playing and keeping themselves busy with the new stuff that they were finding. I laughed when I saw this and had to get a picture of it. A few minutes later though I heard Brock crying because Boston wouldn't take his turn doing the pulling.
Photobucket
I love their faces in this picture. It makes me laugh.
