GOOOO ALYSSA!

So I have to say I am so proud of Alyssa. She did the Mini Cheer Camp at Riverton High School. She had so much fun. She is usually pretty shy, but for some reason she came out of her shell. My mother in law and I were laughing because it was so unlike her to be so into it. She did so good and even threw in a few high kicks at the end.

Ok so one more thing I have to add. If you look at the pictures you'll notice that all the girls have their shirts cinched up in the back. The cheer adviser was handing out rubber bands to all the girls so they could cinch up the back and make it a little more form fitting. So she gave me a rubber band and I couldn't help but laugh. (Don't get me wrong I would have totally done that to my shirt back when I was in high school...and I might have even tried to pull off showing a little skin:) Anyway so I followed the other moms and knotted the back of Alyssa's shirt so she matched everyone else. Next thing I know I look over and Alyssa has taken it off and pulled her shirt down. I need to be proud of that I think...my poor mom had to put up with my rebellious ways.

We had fun watching Alyssa. She begged to do it, so I said what the heck! She had a blast!

Never Say "Nothing"...

So my Mom called last night and asked how we were doing, she said my aunt Judie had noticed I hadn't updated for a while. So of course I tell my mom "well nothing is going on." Boy did I learn my lesson.

I knew the day was coming when my boys would cut their hair, it was just a matter of time. But today I was rushing to get ready for church and I had gotten the kids ready earlier. Gentry loaded them in the car and I got in last. I turned around to make sure they all had shoes on...yes we've made that mistake before. And I noticed that Boston and Brock's hair looked weird. But what's new? I figured as long as we got to church all would be well. As we got seated in church I started looking at my boys hair. I got a little closer and discovered their new haircuts. What do we do now???

OUCH

Brock and Boston are usually best buddies. But there are times when they drive each other nuts. For example: Boston will take Brock's favorite shoes and run around the house with them, Brock following close behind. Our house goes in a circle so they go around and around until: 1. They catch each other 2.Trip on a rug, or 3. in this case Brock runs into the wall/window and hits his cheek on the window casing. (Is that how you spell it?) Anyway I keep thinking they will learn sooner or later but so far they just keep antagonizing each other.

Quick story about Boston. I don't have a picture of this one, but the other day it was time for school and Boston comes in the room with RED MARKER all over his lips. (My guess would be a horrible job of lipstick.) I asked what he was doing and he said it was fruit punch...yeah right. Sometimes I worry about that kid. Brock comes in after him saying "it's not fruit punch, but he looks like a grill!" (Brock's way of saying girl.)

New Years Eve Party

Photobucket

Our friends Trent and Mendee invited us over for New Years Eve. We had a way fun time. They ordered pizza and buffalo wings, and she made this YUMMY chocolate covered popcorn. (I'm pretty sure it's fat free and organic, so I ate lots of it.) Anyway I brought the trusty 7 layer bean dip, and I was going to bring a dessert, but didn't do so well and I ended up bringing cinnamon bears and skittles. I know it sounds random, but we had our kids, so I thought they'd appreciate it.

We played SLURP, and DON'T EAT PETE!...Slurp is where you pass around a bowl of skittles to the person who rolls 7,11 or doubles, and you try to suck the skittles out of the bowl with a straw. Luckily we had Trent there because Mendee and I had a hard time adding up the two dice. My games were random, I must have played them as a kid because Trent and Mendee hadn't heard of them...they were sports and played along though. I think the kids liked the games. (Mendee's older boy Kayson and his friend thought I was nuts, but they played along and we laughed.)

Mendee even supplied us with the sparkling cider, and we did the 10 second count down at 9:25...just in time to get the kids in bed by 10:00.
