Bowling and Ward Bike Parade

Friday was Gentry's day off and when the kids got home from school Christa asked us (in front of the kids) if we wanted to go bowling.  Once my kids heard about bowling there was no going back.  So we took the boys bowling.  (Alyssa didn't want to go.

They had fun.  They are actually not too bad at bowling....they didn't use the ramp thing like they have before...so that's improvement right?!?

Saturday morning was the ward breakfast and bike parade.  The kids had spent the night before decorating their bikes.  I didn't buy any streamers, but they made their decorations from tissue paper and ribbon from the wrapping paper box.  I love when they get creative.  Brock taped a cup to the front of his bike and put pop it snaps in it so as he rode along in the parade he could throw the snaps.  He also put a baseball card in his spokes so it would make noise as he rode his bike.  Boston put balloons on his bike with lots of decorative tissue and paper/ribbon.  I wish I got better pictures.  Alyssa decorated her scooter and I didn't get a picture cause she rode by so fast.  My neighbor got good picture of her so I'll have to add it later.

When we got home, Brock decided he needed to make a bike for Frannie, so he decorated his long board.  He taped a cup to the side for her dog food.
My mom bought a swing like this a month ago, and I told her how much I loved it and wanted to get one.  So the other night when we got home from the temple, they were outside putting it together for us.  WE LOVE IT!

First Day of School

The kids started school on Wednesday this week.  They were excited to go back.  When they got home from school they were all smiles and couldn't wait to tell me about their day.  They are on B track this year.  I'm excited to see how we like this track.

Boston and Brock came home and said "Mom, we have the nicest teacher!"  So thinking that the way worded the statement meant it wasn't my mom and it was her team teacher Mrs. Anderson.  So I said  "Oh did Grandma not teach today?"  they looked at me and said "Yeah it was Grandma...and she said we can even take a rest if we get our work done."  Brock also continued to let me know that 'usually' his favorite part of the day is recess, but now his favorite part is learning.  (I hope it stays that way for longer than a week.)  I'm glad they like their class and teachers.

Alyssa was so excited.  She LOVES her new teacher.  She couldn't say enough about her.  She's young and fun:)  I guess she told Alyssa that she is one of her favorites.  (Hopefully it stays that way for longer than a week too.)

I tried to have cookies made for when they got home, but I got done doing hair a little late so they got to enjoy some cookie dough while waiting for the cookies to bake.

Stay-cation--ish

Last Friday my friend Christa invited us to go to the Days of '47 Rodeo.  It was so fun.  I haven't been to that rodeo ever and I couldn't believe how fun it was.
Me and Christa.  It was fun watching the rodeo...and visiting:)

Whenever my friend Adrienne comes to town we always try to do fun things with our kids.  Of course just playing together all day is fun for them...but being 'parents of the year' we decided to do a few extra fun things.
I'm glad we took pics, because then we can have proof of the fun things we do with our kids for those days when they complain about how boring their life is.

The first place her kids wanted to go was Del Taco...so that's where we went.  (I like that they love such a cheap restaurant.)
Then it was home to play for a little bit.  (I love that they all loved to play with Locklyn)
This is a pretty perfect example of some of the things Adrienne and I did...along with retail therapy of course.

I talked Adrienne into going on a quick ride on the tandem bike.  I think she liked it:)

The next day was our neighbor (and Boston's 'girlfriend) birthday party.  It was such a cute party.  Christa bought all the kids hats and scarves. And my kids are still wearing them.
 They got stickers and tattoos.

And they even got to go on a pony ride.
 ....and a donkey ride.

 Boston and Lana

All of the food was pink...from pink sugar cookies to pink cotton candy.

Then on Monday we took the kids to Seven Peaks.  They had a blast and didn't want to leave.

The kids had so much fun we didn't really ever see them.  They kept going from ride to ride.

Then later that night we took them to Classic Skating.  They got to do everything from Bouncy houses to skating and even Laser tag.
Locklyn was a trooper the whole trip.  She was so good to just hang out.
Although by their faces it doesn't look like they are having fun...they really are...they were just mad I made them stop jumping for a quick picture.
Alyssa and Tenli in the Blast Zone.
Adrienne wanted to go to Chick-fil-a for her last meal here...afterwards we took the kids to Marble Slab for some ice cream.  AND BOSTON PULLED ANOTHER TOOTH!

Ian (Adrienne's husband) lost his best friend Jason last year.  He was a Navy SEAL and left behind a wife and 2 yr old son.  His wife Stacey designed these shirts and is selling them on her website.  Adrienne bought one for each of us.  I can't imagine what his wife has been going through for the last year.  I think it is such a cool idea to have these shirts to keep his memory alive.

And one last pic before she had to leave :(

4th of JULY Celebrations!

It's been a tradition the last few years to go to diving for dollars in the morning.  This year was no different!  My kids love it, and we have fun going too....Gentry gets to judge the Cannon Ball contest and I help out with the Tanning Contest.

Paige Alyssa and Ellie
Brock Jack and Boston

Max and Brock
Awe...Me and My Mom
Part of the crew...Christa, Janay, Me, Shauna, my Mom and Melissa
Brock going off the high dive.
Boston going off the high dive.
Christa had to get in the pool to save Ella...unfortunately it was with her clothes on.  At least she is still smiling right?!
Grandpa Al and Grandpa Kim watching our stuff.

This year for diving for dollars we got smart.  (Or maybe I should say Christa did, she bought these bags for the kids to put their money in.)  The kids all got a few dollars.

No better time for a photo op than in the middle of the contest...good job Alyssa!

Part of the group for the tanning contest.
We went with Gentry's family to In 'n Out for lunch.

Kassie and Me
Then to the movie Brave afterwards.

After the movie we took the kids to Riverton Park for the Haystack Dive.  They had fun, but from the look of this pic you'd think we forced them into going.

The 4th of July wouldn't be complete without a snow cone!
...and BBQ at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  (Although I forgot to get a group pic.)
A little volley ball with Grandpa Kim and Dad.

Happy 4th of July!
