Better Late Than Never....

We went with friends to Midway a couple weekends ago.  I forgot to take my camera so thank goodness I have a good friend to give me a copy of all of them. (Thanks Kristin)

It was Gentry's birthday on Sunday (Sept 18th), so we made a little celebration of it.  I won't mention the fact that he is now 32!!!  To think I met him when he was only 13....time flies.

We went to dinner and someone came up with the idea that we shouldn't take our phones....sounded easy enough, but I can't tell you how many times I still went to grab for it.  Not to mention I was worried my Mom would call and say something was wrong with my kids.  But no worries, everything was OK and I didn't even miss a call.
Caiser, Kristin, and Me.  They were nice enough to let us stay at their place in Midway.  We all had a blast.
 Craig and Chelsea

 Tori and Mitch

 Jeff and Heidi

Gentry and I always joke that we are senior citizens, because we always go to bed early and wake up early....that doesn't change while we are on vacation.  So the next morning we woke up several hours before everyone and we were a little bored.  We didn't want to wake everyone up so we hijacked Kristin's camera and took a bunch of pictures of ourselves.  I couldn't wait for her to get home and look at them on her computer.  But I guess the last laugh is on me, when she got home and saw them she immediately posted them on facebook.
We thought we were pretty funny.

Gentry wants the new iPhone for his birthday...which of course isn't out yet, so I didn't have anything to give him on his birthday.  Luckily Kristin and Caiser gave him an awesome gift!  They gave him his own 20 pack of Irish Spring.  We joke about it because its our favorite soap.  They think we are weird.  It made us laugh that they gave it to him for his birthday.
It's always fun to go on a getaway with friends!!  Thanks again HOGANS!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GENTRY!!!

Visiting Great Grandma Mikesell

We went to visit Great Grandma Mikesell.  (Gentry's Grandma)  She's been living with his Aunt the last few weeks.  The kids thought it was super fun.

We stopped at a little pond, the kids thought it was fun crossing the bridge.
 ...and skipping rocks...
Some of us were better than others.  Although in my defense there weren't very many good rocks:)
Brock even helped Boston get back up the hill.

We saw this temple on our way to Payson, and the kids kept talking about the "real palace", so we stopped by on our way back and took some pics.

Let's Go To The Circus!

We took the kids to the Circus this on Friday.  We went early so they could have a chance to see the animals.

 Don't they look thoroughly intrigued?
It was super hot in the Energy Solutions Arena...Gentry and I kept looking at each other hoping they would turn up the AC.  The kids were crying about how hungry they were....keep in mind they had just eaten.  I was telling them we were going to dinner right after the circus.  I was getting ready to leave even before it started.
So we settled for a little Kettle Corn and some drinks.  I couldn't believe how expensive all the crap was.  Really...$22.00 for a toy I'd be worried about spending a $1.00 on.  So needless to say we didn't buy anything.

The kids got tattoos on their hands.  I was thinking about all the germs they were getting from putting their hands on the table.  (Do I sound like a pessimist here?)

The kids were actually ready to leave before the Circus was over.  Gentry and I were ready to leave too.  So we left a few minutes early.  Asking my kids about the Circus later, you'd think we had a completely different experience....They raved about it.  Hmmmm I think this might be our last time to the Circus.

Our Very Own Chick-Fil-A

I know, I know, we go to Chick-fil-a WAY too much.  But the kids put their own little restaurant together and put so much work into it I had to post it.

 THE MENU
They even made the ice cream cones.

They made all of the food, they even remembered the pickles.
And how can you buy fake food without fake money?
I love that they remembered the details...they even got the vase with flowers.
Boston was in charge of "Kids Night".

They made lots of drinks and shakes so when people ordered they wouldn't run out.

It wouldn't be Chick-fil-a with out the Cow!

LABOR DAY

This year for Labor Day we celebrated with dinner and swimming at my house.
My Grandma Betty was able to make it.  She's 93 and doing great!

We started off with a little fresh salsa and chips.
 Michele, Nate and Jennifer.
My Dad and my Cousin Daniel.
Matt, Tate, Michele...with my Dad trying to sneak in the picture.
 My Mother in law Cyndy
Reese and Alyssa...I think they could be sisters.
 Brock and Max
 Boston
 My Mom and Connor
Pretty much the coolest garbage girl you'll ever see:)
 Me, Janay and Jennifer
Jennifer and Jett (Jennifer and Nate were the only adults who actually swam, the rest of us visited and sampled the food.)
 We celebrated a few birthdays.
And ate some yummy desserts.  (I tried them all, just to make sure they were all good.  I had to take one for the team.)

HAPPY LABOR DAY! (Gentry had to work, but we saved some treats for him)
