Adrienne and her kids came to visit for a few days this weekend.  We were all excited to have them come.  Earlier during the week I took my boys to the library and they asked if they could get a movie.  I noticed Boston picked G-Force, a movie we already have.  I asked him why he was getting it and he said "Because it's Jett's favorite movie and I can't find it."  So we had to rent the movie because he wanted to make sure we had Jett's favorite movie.  Before they got here Boston and Brock even cleaned up the basement.  (Maybe I'm gonna have to have them come every week if that's how I get my basement cleaned:)

We took the kids to Marv Jensen for a few hours.  They loved it.  We were worried the kids had to be 5 or older, so we told them that Tenli was 5...she's almost 5...does that count?  Anyway I guess someone asked Tenli how old she was and she said 4, and my kids said "No, she just had a birthday she forgot she's 5."  Oh well come to find out I guess there's not really an age limit anyway?

We took the kids to Incredible Pizza last night.  While we were paying Alyssa asked when we got to play games and Gentry said "Oh we're not playing games today, we're just here for the pizza."  Then he looked over at Jett who was listening to him talk to Alyssa, and Jett just started crying.  Poor guy, he doesn't know Gentry is always teasing my kids.  So needless to say they got to play lots of games and eat lots of food.

Tenli: "BETSY get yo hands on the wheel!"  She was worried the race was gonna start...none of this picture stuff.
Apparently my kids don't have any faith in me winning.  They  all wanted to go with Adrienne or Gentry.

 Great smiles kids...very natural!

THE BACHELOR

Well I'm not afraid to admit it...I love watching the Bachelor.  And so do my friends.  Allison came up with the idea of a bachelor party.

And in perfect "Allison style"...she hosted it.  She included EVERY detail from the wine glasses to the root"beer", and she even had the FINAL ROSE.
I spy with my little eye...Allison trying to get in my picture:)
OK she even made pina coladas....Yummy too!
 Allison's husband Brent
Ryan...got a little tipsy from his root "beer".
Allison made up a Bachelor questionnaire.  I took it very seriously because she said the award was dinner for two.  Apparently I'm not as smart as I thought I was...darn Mike and Heather won.
 Dinner for TWO:)
I mean we had so much fun there were fireworks going off behind us.
Thanks Allison for putting the party together...and Heather for letting us crash in your parents' basement.  Did I mention it is the perfect place for parties like this???...other than those horses they call dogs that roam the house:)  (I still can't believe she got dogs!)

REALLY??? I MEAN...REALLY?

I was upstairs and I could hear a lot of noise going on downstairs, but I didn't think much of it because my two nephews were over and my kids tend to get a little excited when they have new people over.  Then Alyssa shows me this video.  I was beyond upset.  Then they said "Mom, it wasn't pee it was water in the medicine thing."  So I went over and sure enough...it was water, luckily or they wouldn't leave their bedrooms for at least a year.  What would make my kids even think to do this?  They've been off track for too long now.  School needs to start back up ASAP.

Side note:  Boston came up with the idea and didn't tell anyone, so when the kids came in the kitchen they thought he was peeing which was the reason for all the screaming.  But Brock is the one in the video rein-acting everything.

Next story is from a couple nights ago.  Boston and Brock wanted to play a game.  They wanted to guess what everyone's favorite things are, for example: favorite restaurant, favorite color, etc.  So I started and asked them what my favorite restaurant is and they said..."I don't know, but I know Grandpa's favorite restaurant, it's Del Taco."  I laughed and said "Yep, you're right!"  Then they proceeded to say "I know what Grandpa's favorite thing to do is, it's to go in his office and talk to Gisalle."  So I said "Giselle?"  And they said "No!" then speaking slowly they said "GIS-ALLE."  I looked baffled and then Gentry said using his best impression of my dad "THIS-IS-AL" said using only 2 syllables.  I about died laughing because every time my Dad answers the phone he says "This is Al."  So my kids have thought that he goes into his office to talk to Gisalle....if you quickly slur "this is Al" it sounds just like Gisalle.  Too funny.

On a side note, how hard is it for my kids to guess my favorite restaurant.  We spend a good part of our lives at Chick-fil-a...hmmm.

Boy I oughtta....

Today Gentry and I went to Costco to get gas in our car. Gentry got back in the car and said "Man, you can tell someone has been playing with their credit card machines." So I said "why?" He then proceeds to tell me.."well first the machine asked if I wanted to use my American Express so I pushed yes, then it said would you like a receipt so I said yes. Then it said ARE YOU COLD? So I pushed yes, cause I was cold." So I'm thinking crap...our credit card is being taken over by some thief because Gentry has just pushed yes to a stupid question. So Gentry is seeing the panic in my eyes and just busts up laughing. Why on earth do I still believe him. It's because he comes up with such STUPID lies that I believe them. Well at least he was entertained today.

The past week...

Last Wednesday we had a really fun Young Womens activity.  We wanted to start the year off with a Theme.  Our YW president Kellie loves to have themes...she cracks me up.  This year we used the different Disney princesses to represent principles of our theme (which was the 13th Article of Faith: Honest, True, Chaste, Benevolent, Virtuous etc.)  Each princess represented one of the principles and we explained why by relating their story.

I was Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty.  My principle was virtuous.  I laughed because Sleeping Beauty was asleep for the whole movie...so of course she was virtuous.  I was able to relate a few things to the girls so hopefully they got past the laughs and learned a little something:)

Haley (Belle), Kris (Cinderella), Jen (Tangled Rapunzel) ME (Aurora), Kellie (Jasmin), Kellie's little girl Emery (Tiana), Annika (Snow White), Michelle (Ariel), Heather (Pocahontas)..Thanks Annika for my costume...and Kellie for most of the other costumes.
It was a fun way to start the year off with the Young Women and I think they seemed to really like it.

This next picture is of me and my friend Angie after running one morning.  Nope I ain't too proud to post it.  (But I do expect some type of appreciation if you get a good laugh at how pretty I look.)  Check out the frost on her hair and my eyelashes.

And last but not least.  Last year my friend Heather started a fun tradition of having a girls "Grateful Breakfast".  It was such a good idea and we had so much fun.  Lindsey decided to host it this year.  She made really yummy cookie waffles with ice cream.  She said it was really healthy too:)
It was fun to share the things we were grateful for this last year, and to hear what everyone else was grateful for too.  Thanks Lindsey for putting this together!

No one remembered to bring a camera so these pics are compliments of my phone.

Kristin, Me, Katie. (Lindsay Clements had to leave early so no pic)

A couple stories I don't want to leave out of my blog book...
This first one is about Alyssa.  In November the primary gave out some turkeys on paper.  Every time the kids did a good deed they were supposed to put a turkey there.  I had noticed the turkeys laying around but didn't pay attention to why.
Anyway, I overheard Alyssa asking Boston if he told the teachers about the good deeds he had done, and he said no.  So I asked Alyssa if she told her teachers and she said "No, but I did make your bed, but I didn't want to tell them because that would make you sound lazy."  Thanks Alyssa for always having my back!
My boys are always cracking me up.  The other day Alyssa said "Mom, Boston pays Brock to go outside so he can play downstairs by himself."  I turned around and said "Are you serious?"  Brock got a big grin and said "Yep, and it works!"....so now Brock is loaded and Boston gets to play with the toys downstairs by himself.  I don't know why that makes me laugh.  Apparently Boston doesn't care about money...or Brock is just that annoying to him at times.

JR JAZZ

Last night we took the kids to the Jazz game.  We signed both boys up for Jr. Jazz, and it includes tickets to a game.  Alyssa didn't get to go last year so we thought she would have fun coming.  We were going to buy a ticket, but my brother Matt got sick so he let us have his ticket.  We brought his little boy Max with us...which my boys loved.
Alyssa wanted me to write this on her face.  She even made a poster (which consisted of 4 pieces of paper taped together) but somehow she forgot it when we left.

Brock thinks he is pretty cool.  His face cracks me up here.
 Boston, Brock, and Max
The guy behind us asked if we wanted him to take a picture.  I thought it was really nice of him to volunteer.  Then he asked, "Are those all your kids?"  I said yes, just not the blond he's my nephew. He actually thought they were triplets.
Gentry also dropped us off so he could park and as we were walking one of the security guys said, "Wow, you've got a lot of kids."
OK we're in UTAH people...why do they act so surprised by 4 kids?

Boston was really tired he didn't last long.
Still sleeping.
Funny little story:
We stayed until the game was over, so by the time we got on the freeway it was already 10:30 (I know are you dying I was gone so late?) and all of the kids were tired.  About 10 minutes before we got home Max said to Alyssa "Are you even tired?  Cause I'm not tired AT ALL!"...within 5 minutes he was asleep.   GOOD TIMES!
