Making Progress...sort of.

Well Boston ended up having to go to the U of U burn clinic. They were really nice, but they had to cut off the big blister on his hand. I am supposed to clean it and change the dressing twice a day and then go back in 2 weeks. It has been 4 days since he was burned and I took this picture to show the progress. His poor little fingers have blisters on the tips too. So sad, but he is a trooper. Everything seems to happen to him...missing ribs, broken leg, hit in the mouth etc. Sorry kind of a gross picture of his hand, but hey it's getting better!

Next my sweet friend Adrienne stopped by and brought me my favorite 3 Musketeers MINT. It can make any day brighter. Why is it that food and "retail therapy" aka shopping, can always make me feel better?

Alyssa has been such a good helper. Thank goodness I have her. She ASKED if she could vacuum the basement. What a good girl. Of course when she got done she asked if we could go to the Dollar Store. (That is my kind of gal!) I said I'd think about it.

Had A Bad Day(s)!

Sorry in advance this is a real "Debbie Downer" post. I just need to vent and then I'll feel better.

Let's start with last week...I'll give you the quick run down.

Boston and Brock were fighting and Brock hit Boston in the mouth. His two front teeth are looking gray, but he does look better. I was worried the day it happened and his face was so puffy he looked like a "Who Ville" character..from Dr. Suess.

Bad week with work...trucks broke down..ya know the usual, anyway Gentry I were so excited to have a night to ourselves because my wonderful in-laws took the kids overnight. So Gentry got home from work and said "Let's just go to dinner and forget about this whole week". (I will spare you from some of the other crappy things that had happened.) Anyway we got our salads and we started digging in. Within seconds Gentry uncovered a curly black hair...yes in his salad. I see him spitting out his food and gagging. I had to laugh because that is just the week we had.

Now today was going pretty smooth, so I decided for family night to make cookies for the kids. They wanted No-bake cookies so I started making them and they were watching. Alyssa pulled up a chair so her and Boston could watch, I was just finishing mixing in the final ingredients and Alyssa nudged Boston so he tried to catch himself on the burner. Yes it was pretty bad! We took him to the Insta-Care and they wrapped him up and gave him some heavy meds...let's just say he should sleep well:)

Oh and last but not least is a picture of Alyssa with her Webkinz. She got one for Christmas, and has loved it. I let her do work around the house...she cleaned the whole basement, vacuumed..stairs and everything! So she could earn another Webkin. She went to Grandma Cyndy's and all the kids got another one. She was so excited (so were the boys!). She came home and told me "Yeah Mom, I didn't even have to earn this one!" Luckily she has a nice Grandma.

So now that I said how crappy things are, here are some of the "bright" side.

-Boston gets to visit my brother..who happens to be a Dentist!

-Boston burnt his left hand...luckily because he is right handed.

-Gentry's meal was free because of the hair in it!...still would have rather had a hair free meal...maybe next time.

1st T ball Game

Today was Boston and Brock's first Tball game. They actually really had fun. I was surprised at how much the both liked it. Brock was a little more aggresive, and had a couple moments of tears when he wasn't the one to catch the ball. Boston on the other hand looked at me with a huge grin everytime he did something. It was really fun watching them. I love that the little kids have no idea where to run but they are loving every minute of it.

Kid Stuff

So I was vacuuming Alyssa's bedroom and I noticed she had some pictures on her desk. I looked at them and had to smile. She is so cute. I love little kids art work, and I thought this was the best because she drew the whole family...including the dog Buddy which we gave away last fall. ( I can't handle dogs, so my kids will have to pretend.) Anyway as I was looking at this picture I noticed Alyssa even drew me with high heels...that's my girl! I think this is actually better than the previous pictures because she always drew me as the biggest. (Kids are just too darn honest I tell ya.) At least she draws me fashionable...and big. Ha ha.
Another random sidenote: Boston said he loves to see himself on the McPuter aka computer. I thought it was cute though.

Building A "Fork".

My kids were so proud of themselves this morning. They went downstairs and built a little fort. They came upstairs grinning from ear to ear wanting to show us. Brock yelled "Mom and Dad come see our fork!!!" I thought it was so cute that I didn't correct him. Boston said the same thing, he was so proud of his "fork". Alyssa was too busy to notice what they were saying. She will usually correct them.

Funny little thing happened last night. I swindled my mom into taking my kids for a couple hours so I could go shopping with my friend. So when Brock woke up from his nap I told him Grandma Suzie was going to babysit. He said to me..."Mom if you let me sleep at Grandma's house I'll give you some gum!" I laughed so hard. (Little did he know I would have given him my favorite chocolate chocolate doughnut...the Dunford kind...if he talked Grandma in to taking him.) I had to call my mom to tell her...which led to her feeling obligated to invite the kids to sleep over. So Gentry and I were all alone last night! It was pretty fun. Don't get me wrong I love my kids, but sometimes a night with them at Grandma's is just what a girl needs.

Side note: Notice my boys are wearing shorts and tank tops. Yes that would be compliments of my sister's kids hand me downs. My kids think they are the coolest clothes and I can't get them to take them off.
