Gentry Is 34...and the BYU Game.

Gentry's birthday was on a Wednesday this year.  Both of us worked and when he got home we had to take the boys to football practice.  We sat in the car eating Chick-fil-a for dinner while we watched the boys practice.  I felt bad because it wasn't much of a birthday.

Brock stayed home from school with a cold so he made this card for Gentry.  He also made a big banner in our room.
"Than you for giveing us love.  And helping us be kind to others.  You are the best dad in the world!!! I love you more than BYU!!!"
I love his cards and drawings.
I have a client who makes these cakes for all of her U of U friends.  I told her I wanted one and she brought it over on Gentry's birthday.  Which was perfect.  Gentry loved it...and I didn't have to make a cake!  Plus it was super yummy.  We even had left overs for breakfast....we don't want it to go to waste ya know.
After practice we all came home and got to have some cake!
Thursday night we spent all night ripping up carpet and staples and also moving all of our furniture because carpet was being laid on Friday.  We were exhausted and all had to sleep in the basement that night.  Friday morning the carpet people got here at 6:30 AM and were all ready to start.  I went to check the carpet and they delivered the wrong kind!!  I was literally so depressed all day.  Gentry and I had to move the furniture all back so we could use the bathrooms and beds for the next week and a half.  So this is what our room looks like while we wait for the carpet we ordered to come in.
Then Gentry took the trailer to the dump to throw away all of our old carpet.  When he got back he noticed he ran over a nail...so we had to take the car in.  The people that replaced our tires a year ago lost the key to our tires....so they had to strip them.  Then we went to the Verizon store to get our new iPhone...(the lady told us they opened at 10 so we got there at 8:15) only to find out they opened at 7:00 that morning and were all SOLD OUT!!!  This day felt like it kept getting worse!  So luckily my sweet friend Brenda knew about the carpet and brought over Chick-fil-a breakfast.  Then at lunch time my other sweet friend Angie brought us yummy orange rolls from Rollin in the Dough.  Which we all know food makes me happier!

After trying to find new carpet at a new place we decided to just wait it out and let Home Depot bring the carpet we originally ordered.  We were in such bad moods that we were a little short with our kids.  We felt bad that they got the brunt of it so we took them to dinner.

We sent Cooper a video singing happy birthday and he sent one back thanking us.  This is the kids watching the video.
The very best part of the day on Friday was that my Dad came home from the hospital!!!  After having open heart surgery on Monday.  He looks so great.  I'm so glad he is doing well.  This picture was the day after surgery.  Amazing!
Saturday Gentry stayed home from work because he wasn't feeling well.  (We've all had colds this week.)  But we all watched the BYU game as a family.  What a bummer they lost.  Now we don't play the U of U until 2016.  We were telling our kids that and thinking how old they will be the next time we watch them play each other again.
The game didn't start until 8:15 and it wasn't over til almost midnight.  I think it was a little late for the kids!

GOBLIN VALLEY

We decided last year that we wanted to take the kids to Goblin Valley.  We had talked to a bunch of people that said we would love it so we decided to go.  We went with a few families Chamberlain's White's, Dailey's and Thomas's which made it more fun for the kids because there was always someone for the kids to play with.
The kids were constantly looking for lizards.  They decided to put one on Gentry's ear for an earring.
We went on a hike through Little Wild Horse Canyon.  It was nice and shady for the most part.  It was pretty fun.  There were a few spots I got a little claustrophobic...but I survived.
Gentry is always climbing on rocks to take pictures of everyone....so I had to take pictures of him with my cell phone.

Everywhere we went it was so beautiful.  There were so many cool things to see.

We stayed in a group site literally right next to all the climbing hills.  The kids LOVED it.  The only downfall was it was super hot and you had to turn off your generators by 10:00 PM so it was a little warm at night.
There was a really nice pavilion that we all sat in chairs and visited.  It was nice and shady and the breeze felt good too.
Goblin Valley was really cool.  The kids literally ran around everywhere playing hide and go seek and just checking everything out.

Alyssa was constantly doing heel stretches everywhere.....so we got several pictures of that.

So I did a heel stretch with her......OK OK I "tried" to do one.

We thought this rock looked like a bum...so Brock sat on it.

 Roasted some marshmallows...

During part of the hike, Boston was ahead of me and he ran back to me and said "Mom, I don't know if you're gonna fit."  And when I got through he saw me and looked surprised and said "Oh look you made it."  I was laughing...only a kid can be so honest.

Angie Greg and Gentry all went on a little hike in Goblin Valley....I stayed back...luckily...they said I would have hated it.  (I'm scared of heights and ledges...of course.)
All in all the kids had  a great time.  I had a headache the whole time, and I think I was stressed about getting home because we were getting our house repainted.  The trailer was nice, but the people before us didn't dump it...needless to say it really stunk and it was filled before we left.  Luckily we found some nice bathrooms and showers at the campground.  Here's to MAKING MEMORIES!

Business Pictures

So Angie and I decided we needed to get some business pictures taken.  We are wanting to start putting our bedding on QVC and other home shopping networks because we feel like our bedding needs to be explained and these shows would be perfect for us.  While trying to find out how we can get on the show they needed to have pictures of us...so naturally we needed to have a photo-shoot.

This is the first photo-shoot....they weren't terrible, I just felt like they were rigid and didn't look like us.
I called Peter (the photographer) and told him I wanted to re-take the pictures.  He offered to do it the following night.  Unfortunately Ali couldn't make it to that one.  Which is fine because we can still use the other picture with her in it.

I liked how these new pictures turned out so much better.  It feels more relaxed and I felt like it showed more personality.
Now we just need to get the product made so we can SELL SELL SELL!!
