Halloween Parade and Party

The kids' school had their Halloween parade on Friday.  It worked out well because Gentry has Friday's off, so he was able to come with me and help out at Alyssa's class party too.

Brock wanted to be The Hulk.
And last minute the morning of the parade Boston decided to be a cow instead of The Hulk.  (I won't comment on the fact that the cow costume is way too small.)
 Alyssa was a witch.

We went to Alyssa's class to help with the Halloween party.
They played the mummy toilet paper game.
 And Alyssa was the MUMMY:)
Gentry was my helper...he sliced all the apples and poured all the drinks for the kids.
Gotta love dry ice.  Even at our age we still think it's cool.
Angie put the party together and the rest of us helped out.  The kids seemed to love it.
Later that night Alyssa went to a Halloween party with Angie's girls, and we tagged along for the Haunted House at the end of the street.  It was actually a really cute Haunted House.  The kids LOVED it.  I love the pic above with all the kids looking at the camera, but my boys are too busy peeking into the Haunted House.

Gentry waited int the car with the kids that didn't want to go to the Haunted House, but even he ended up going in...the kids wanted to go back for round two, so Gentry took them.

Pumpkin Carving/Decorating

Every year we go to Gentry's parents house to carve pumpkins.  This year we got even more crafty and painted and decorated too.  The kids were so excited to do their pumpkins.  They get to take them to school to enter into a pumpkin contest.

Boston drew a sketch of what he wanted his pumpkin to look like.  It cracked me up he was so opinionated about everything.
We did the carving/decorating in the basement at their house.  It was really nice cause it was FREEZING outside.
Brock wanted to make his Frankenstein.
Boston was so proud of his witch.
 Alyssa made a princess pumpkin.

We had rootbeer floats and cookies for dessert!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Mini Vacation to Midway

It was fall break for our kids this last week, and our awesome friends invited us to stay at their place in Midway.  The kids had a blast, riding scooter, bikes, swimming and running around.  The weather was beautiful.  It was nice and relaxing for the adults too.

We went out to eat a couple times.

Hung out in the family room to visit.
 Enjoyed some milk shakes.
 Brock got some new shoes.
 Alyssa got some new sweats.
The kids bought their own duck tape.

We went to dinner with just the adults.

The kids stayed entertained with the duck tape.

They tried to find the "difference" between the boys.
 We practiced some pushups.
...and a few wall sits...and there's a slight chance my daughter beat me in a plank hold.
And we loved every minute of it!  Thanks Hogan's for letting us have a fun weekend!!!

The Last Soccer Game of the Season

The boys had their last soccer game yesterday.  They did a great job, and I'm always proud of them.
It was a fun team for them to be on.  Ryan Bullock was their coach and they played with all of their friends.  They loved it.

Frankenstein

We took the kids to dinner the other night.  They wanted to go to Salsa Leedos because they heard from the neighbors Frankenstein was going to be there.  I didn't think much of it as we walked in and I saw this HUGE decoration...well I thought it was a decoration until it MOVED and I started screaming.  Once again I have such killer reflexes I just turned into Gentry and screamed.  The kids thought it was so funny.  I felt jumpy the rest of the night.

We were watching Jennifer's kids the other night for a little bit, and I was laughing at how excited my boys were to dress up....hmmmm.

HOMESTEAD

Gentry and I went to the Homestead in Midway for the night.  Gentry had work stuff, and luckily he works with/for one of his best friends Brock.  So it worked out perfect to have the wives come up for the night after their meetings.  Kristin drove (because let's be honest I hate/I'm terrified of driving on the freeway.)  We did a little shopping at the outlet stores, and then dinner with the work people.  Brock and Kristin made the night super fun.  We wasted a little bit of time before dinner taking pictures. Enjoy:)

I spy with my little eye...someone trying to sneak in the picture.
(No names mentioned Gentry)

Hey does anyone know where Kristin is?
Gentry was trying to make the "awkward" face...of course I'm oblivious.

WOW, that was a lot of pics for a quick night...and to be honest I didn't even show half of them because Gentry's eyes were always blinking.  (He still claims he has very sensitive eyes.)  Oh well we got some good laughs.
