GETTING BRAVER BY THE DAY...

Not only did I go to Blanding this weekend...I went BY MYSELF. Yes, you heard me right. I drove 5 hours alone, just me, my cell phone and the printed instructions of how to get there from Adrienne. I have to add this side note: HER instructions were better than my GPS (which didn't tell me to exit I-15 to go to Price) and the MapQuest instructions that were all too wordy for me to understand. I guess Adrienne knows the way I work and gave me perfect instructions. Thank you Adrienne:)

So I found myself leaving bright and early, excited for my new adventure. I got on the freeway. So far so good, I've driven the freeway before, so no big deal. I start listening to my iPod thinking I'm going to have so much fun...no whining kids in the back seat. Then I get to Springville. Adrienne's note says I need to take the Price exit which is right after Springville. Watch for the Price exit sign there are only 2 she says. So now I'm getting nervous because my GPS doesn't say anything about an exit. Practice deep breathing Betsy, you can do this. I think I'm getting dizzy. WHEW....And there we are...Price exit. Note to GPS: you suck, next time tell me when there is an exit that I need to go on.

The rest of the drive was pretty uneventful except for when the semi-truck driver honked at me as I was passing him. He gave me the honk**honk-honk** honk (you know the one that people use when they knock on your door if they know you.) Anyway my heart starts racing because I thought he was trying to tell me something...like is my bumper flying off, or is a cop ahead and I'm speeding? Nope just a wave when I turn around and look at him. Please don't be friendly when I'm trying to concentrate on my drive. Honking stresses me out.

I make it to Blanding. Adrienne tells me it is a small town, so before I went down I had my own "visual" of what it and the people all look like. I pictured them to look either Amish or cowboy-ish. They were neither. Actually really cute nice people. It was fun. I got to see where everyone lives and I even got to go to the San Juan high football game. They won! (Probably for me right?! Cause I'm good luck.)

We went jogging the next morning. I've missed our morning jogs, so it was fun to do that again. Then we got ready and headed to Farmington, New Mexico. Yes, I traveled even further than Blanding. We shopped literally ALL day, and bought stuff for her dad's new office. It was so much fun! The only thing better than shopping, is shopping with someone's money other than my own. How great is that?

Sunday I went to church with her, and got to see her new ward. I felt really cool when someone knew who I was and said she heard I made wheat bread.

Thanks Adrienne for the fun weekend. I had a blast!

**I wanted to take one last picture before I left, and Jett (her 5 year old) took the pics. I love the 2nd one.

Dance. Dance. Dance.

Boston finally got to start his hip hop class. To say he loves it would be an understatement. I wish I could get a video of his face while he's dancing because he is so excited to be there. Notice his shoulder shrug moves in the first video. I don't know why I love that part.

At the end of class his teacher brought in hula hoops and told them they could "free style" if they wanted. She let Brock come in for the last song and he thought he was so cool. Watch some of Brock's moves in the 2nd video. I don't know where he learns them.

Boston is actually pretty good with the hula hoop. I wish he would have put it down though because his "free style" is super entertaining:) Boston was a little upset because he didn't want Brock to come in. I love watching them. They crack me up.

After leaving dance Boston kept saying, "Mom, did you see me do those tricks? Mom, I love dance. That was SOOO fun!" etc. He was so cute.

Brock is starting to take break dance so I'll get a video to keep you all posted:)

I FINALLY Did it!

For those of you who know me, you know that my whole life...well since I was probably 3, I've been praying that I never have to get my wisdom teeth pulled out. For a few years I honestly thought I prayed them away, but unfortunately I'm just not that good.

For the last few months my wisdom teeth will hurt, (and I now have sympathy for teething children) but after a few days the pain goes away. The last few days however have been different. The pain kept getting worse. And as you all know I am a DRAMA queen when it comes to pain. So thank goodness I have the most FABULOUS dentist...my brother MATT!!! I went in and he got me numb...which I have to say you literally can't tell when he is giving you a shot because he is such a darn good dentist. The whole procedure took less than 10 minutes! I was done. I couldn't believe it. So I told him we needed a pic because this event was "BLOG WORTHY".

Thanks again Matt, you saved my weekend. I don't think I could have made it through the day with the way my teeth were feeling, and now I feel like a champ! (And I conquered one of my biggest fears!)

So for those of you who need a dentist, call my brother's office! His office is awesome. (Plus you get a FREE aqua massage after every visit!)

DID YOU KNOW...

Photobucket
Boston came home from school today and as I was making lunch he was on the floor playing with the kitten. This is our conversation:

Boston: Mom did you know that if a girl pokes herself in the eye she will turn into a kitten?

Me: Who told you that?

Boston: I just learned it all by myself. Nobody told me.

Me: No they don't turn into kittens.

Boston: Well then do they turn into dogs?

Me: (laughing) No. They just stay girls.

I had to write this down, because I will forget it by tomorrow if not.

Simply Brock

Photobucket
Today while driving in the car:

Alyssa: Mom, I can spell Mississippi...M-I-SS-I-SS-I-PP-I

Before I get a chance to say anything, I hear this:

Brock:I pee pee, I wiener, I pee pee.

Why is it that boys can make anything gross...or off color???? They LOVE potty words. (He gets it from his Dad.) Wow I just threw Gentry under the bus:) I love my boys!

Meet Claire...and 1st day of Preschool!

For a while now my kids and Gentry have been asking to get a pet. I told them I'd be happy to get any pet that doesn't poop or pee. The other day I was driving with my boys and this was our conversation:

Boston: Hey Mom, I think we should get a lamb!

Me: Why?

Boston: Because lambs don't poop or pee.

I told him they actually do, and we couldn't get one.

So meanwhile they've been trying to find an animal I would approve of....and I caved. Yep, I let them get a kitty. (I kind of like the little thing..shhh) Unfortunately she does go to the bathroom, but at least for now she hasn't had an accident. Probably because my kids won't put her down. I think she's gonna forget how to walk at this rate. They love her! Alyssa came up with the name. She wanted either Isabelle or Claire and I told her Claire was easier to say, so that's what we named our new kitty.

The boys had their first day of preschool today. They love Miss Elke! I was ready for them to go back to school too. I think they get bored while I'm working.

Rangering

The kids love going riding on the Ranger, and this time my Mom and Dad rode on the 4 wheeler behind us. It was fun. I was laughing because the kids were telling Gentry to drive crazy because they wanted to get "red lines on their neck" aka: seat belt burns. I guess the last time he took them riding they got jerked around so much it gave them rug burns on their neck and they thought it was so cool they wanted to do it again, but we didn't go too crazy this time because my mom was about to have a heart attack. For a minute there I actually thought she was crying. She is as scared as me when it comes to stuff like this. She said she had fun, but I don't see her going again anytime soon...maybe she'll surprise me:)

KID'S NIGHT

I usually work all day on Wednesday so by the time dinner time rolls around the kids don't want to wait for anything to cook. (And let's be honest, I don't feel like cooking either.) So sometimes...let me rephrase that... a lot of times we end up at Chick-fil-a. Well this last Wednesday they had a lady painting faces. My kids thought it was so fun.

Alyssa only gets french braids when aunt Missy does her hair. So I had to take a picture after Missy did her hair. THANKS MISSY! (I hate trying to french braid, not to mention it's hard to tell it's a french braid when I get done.)

Squishy Bread..and other stuff.

(Yes they still use sippy cups. They will probably be 15 years old before I let them drink without one.)

So I was looking through some pics and realized I forgot to post this. I just like having these random stories in my blog book...sorry:)

My boys came home from preschool (a month and a half ago) and told me that I should make ham sandwiches, because Miss Elke made them and they just loved them. So I bought some ham and made them sandwiches. Well they didn't take more than a bite and said they didn't like them. I was so bummed cause I just bought the sandwich meat. The proceeded to tell me that Miss Elke uses "the squishy bread". I laughed and said "Oh you mean white bread"...I am laughing because I always make wheat bread and it's just not the same as the good ol' stick to the roof of your mouth white bread. So when we went to the grocery store the boys helped me pick out the perfect "squishy bread".

Then today I took a pic of the boys for some preschool thing...and I didn't realize how hard it is to get a picture of them with out them flaring their nostrils or doing something weird. So this is what we got. (And yes I posted the best ones I could get.)Boston

Brock

This picture is so Brock. He loves to make signs. I don't think he even knows what he's doing, he just wants to be cool like his older cousins.

And I had to throw this pic of Alyssa in. She loves school, but she's gone during the day so we don't get as many pics of her lately.
