DRAMA...

So for those of you who know my boys, you know how totally different they are. Brock WILL NOT let me comb his hair, and Boston...well I think enjoys it getting done. So I decided today while cutting their hair that I would let them have different hair. I thought Brock would love a buzz....WRONG.

I cut Boston's hair first, then started on Brock. Before I was even finished Brock was balling and telling me he wanted it like it was before. I was like OH CRAP! So I called Gentry and he just laughed cause he could hear Brock screaming in the background. So trying to make a peace offering I told him I'd cut steps into his hair. Well Boston was the one who wanted the steps. (Why would I even offer steps to him??? I have no idea...I guess I was just desperate to stop the crying.) Anyway long story short Boston has the steps and Brock is FINALLY ok with his buzz. Oh yeah, and Boston decided he wanted a buzz too.

Brock having an emotional breakdown over his haircut.

Boston BEFORE the buzz drama

All is well now that Boston has a buzz...oh and steps too. What was I thinking? Luckily they will grow out quick.

The lighting makes their buzz look weird I know, but in real life it doesn't look like they are going bald. I'll be honest, I just don't love buzz haircuts.

Herriman Beach

Who knew Herriman had a little beach??? Well apparently Heather and a few other friends of mine already knew, so I was glad to be invited. Thanks for setting up the play date!

Boston wouldn't let me get a picture, too busy playing I guess. So this is the only pic I have of him.

"THE GIRLS"
From left to right: Lindsey, Lindsay, Diana, Katie, ME:), Heather, and Kristin.
While I was loading my pics on the computer my boys said: "Hey all of you guys are wearing sunglasses except not the girl in the blue shirt." I guess Kristin didn't get the memo:)
Photobucket
"THE KIDDOS" I won't even attempt to name them all. Sorry.
We told them to make a funny face, and this is what Brock came up with. Sometimes I think his "good" smile is funnier. You know how kids go through those awkward picture phases...my kids are right in the middle of the phase.

First Day of 2nd Grade

Photobucket
Photobucket
Alyssa started 2nd grade on Monday. She loves her teacher, and said she has lots of friends in her class. Most of the girls in the neighborhood are on the same track, so she'll have friends to play with when she's off track. My mom was going to teach at another school, but last minute was able to stay...but meanwhile I put Alyssa in a different class, so she doesn't get to have my mom as a teacher. I was bummed for Alyssa, but I think she'll still get to see her quite a bit.

ADVENTURES IN VEGAS

So I went to Vegas to watch a couple of my niece Haley's basketball tournament games and I convinced Heather last minute to join me.

Here are a few pics from the trip:

This first pic is right when we got our stuff loaded into our room and then we decided to get on the shuttle that takes us over to the strip. Well this is what we stumbled on while walking to the front of the hotel...yes it is a criminal and he had a bag on his head because he was so high on drugs he was spitting at the cops. I sent this pic to Gentry's phone and he called me when he got it and told me to "LEAVE WHEREVER YOU ARE!" I told him we were safe and at the mall by the time he got the text. But I must say I was a little nervous about the hotel after seeing this.
We went and had our makeup done...it was fun, but by the time we got home we had to wash it off because we were ready for bed.
Me and my cute niece Haley...the B-ball star:)
OK so I was starting to think we were being punked after several things that had happened...after the first few I started taking pictures. This one is of the gas station that I turned in to and EVERY SINGLE pump was out of order. I was laughing and told Heather we needed to get a pic and so I asked this guy and he just walked away and told me he would after he paid for his gas, does he not see the sign OUT OF ORDER? So I asked the next lady I saw and she was nice enough to do it.
Next I called to ask if we could get towels because they only gave us 2 and there were 3 of us in the room. A guy brought them to the room and when I got out of the shower I realized that he gave us RUGS! Umm they were a little small.
Then the 2nd night at about 3:00 in the morning I woke up to hearing water running. That would be the water coming from the ceiling and door jams. We were on the 2nd floor and I was worried the people above us were going to collapse in on us. I called the front desk and they told us they would get us a new room, but after waiting for our new room the water stopped and we figured we could wait until morning to get a new room. We were too tired to move all of our crap.
Not quite sure what this pic was...I think Heather was giving Haley a ride???
Out of the 220 hotels I searched in Vegas only 17 allow animals...I was brilliant enough to pick the one that allows dogs. (we all know how much I don't love dogs.) Our neighbor next door had a dog that wouldn't stop yapping so we would bang on the door...causing him to bark more. Finally we called the room and the ringing for some reason made the dog stop barking for at least a few minutes.
Heather and I went to the show Mesmerized. It was pretty darn funny. I had a guy stop while we were waiting and take a double take...at my shoes. He stopped and said "Great shoes!"
I think I lost count of how many times I got lost, but this time in particular the GPS took me to a field instead of Big O tires...I guess it's important to enter the right address.
Thanks Heather for going with me...and joining in on the good ol' adventures. I'd say we got a few good laughs.

Bear Lake

Well most of you know that I am not a fan of camping...so this year I somehow managed to convince my family to skip the annual Lake Powell trip (that has been a tradition since I was born) and go to Bear Lake. We stayed at a condo on the beach and I LOVED every minute of it. The kids were sad to leave, and so was I...although I am excited to get them on a regular sleeping schedule. We stayed up late and woke up early to get the most out of every day. It was so fun to be with most of my family. (Once again Jennifer and Alan's families weren't able to make it..we missed you guys!)Gentry saw that I was trying to take a picture and so he started posing...he didn't realize I was really going to post it.

Brock got daring and got in the water..sort of :)

Boston and his tiny sand castle...he was so proud of it.

My hot hubby!:)

Boston and Grandpa Al

Kate and Alyssa

Cooper and JT

Buster and Haley

CJ and Mac

The kids thought it was sooo cool to stand up while on the tube. Brock was so funny he was flashing all kinds of signs from "I love you" to "peace", and "rock on".

The kiddos in the hot tub...it was so nice to have pools and hot tubs if you weren't in the mood to go to the lake.
OK so I am not a fan of actually being IN a lake. So it took a LOT of convincing on Missy's part to get me out on the tube. She promised to drive nice so I wouldn't crash...she left out the details of having her husband DUMP me over board. Not to mention I was wearing a teeny tiny life jacket that was made for a 5 year old. (It was the only option on board.) So needless to say I made it IN the lake. I almost drowned cause the darn life jacket was TOOO SMALL!!! She got the whole thing on video too.
I wasn't going to post this pic, but I thought we needed a "visual" of exactly how small this life jacket was. HELLO I could have drowned:) Retarded pic, I know...but I just suffered from an anxiety attack after being thrown into the water unexpectedly.
Getting ready to leave the condo...one last pic of me and Missy:)

On the way home we stopped at Renegade Sports and went rode on the Go-Carts. It was a BLAST!

The kids got to ride on this ride called the Frog Hopper. The people were really nice and let them go a second time for free!

SHE'S BAAAACK!!!

Just finished the new hair!

Adrienne had just finished telling me and Gentry that the last time she went to Texas Roadhouse was her bday and they made her sit on the "stupid saddle"...so of course Gentry told the waiter it was Adrienne's bday. She tried telling the waiter Gentry was lying, but the waiter replied with "That's what everyone says." Gentry was encouraging her to get on the saddle by saying..."hey Adrienne, you don't turn 29 everyday!"...ha ha.

Going to see The Proposal.....LOVED IT, LOVED IT!!!

I had the best week ever! My friend Adrienne came back in town for a hair appointment and some much needed "retail therapy". Boy did we have fun! I'm already sad she's gone...but no worries, I'm already planning your next visit Adrienne:)

FAMILY STUFF

I wanted to add a few pics of the family dinner tonight. We always celebrate the birthdays of the month on the 1st Sunday. This month was Chase's birthday. Which we were so excited about because of all the gazillion people in my family no-one was born in July so my mom made us celebrate our ancestors. Come on how creepy is that? Try singing happy birthday to someone you've never met. So, Jennifer being the favorite daughter fixed that problem and now we have Chase to sing to...although he wasn't here, at least we can celebrate his birthday.

Photobucket
We have such a big group now, we had to take two pictures. One of the kids and one of the adults.
Photobucket
I was so bummed none of my pictures turned out. They were all blurry. This is the best shot I could get of the group. Darn.

Photobucket
My mom wanted me to take a picture of my brothers with my Dad. Finally all together! This hasn't happened for a while.

Photobucket
My niece Jessica was at EFY so today was the first time I've seen her in a while. I couldn't believe she was almost as tall as me. My niece Ashley is so dang cute, she reminds me so much of my little sister Jennifer.

Photobucket
Jenni and Chris were in Park City with her family yesterday, so they missed out on pictures...sorry guys can't get out of the picture thing with me:)

Photobucket
Maren and Jess...man they shouldn't be this old yet.

Photobucket
Alyssa is LOVING having Kate here to play. They are best buddies.

Photobucket
Megan and Michelle

Photobucket
KC and Mac...I still call him Scrubby, but I guess he's probably too old for that.

The 3 musketeers. No your eyes aren't bad, the darn pic is fuzzy.
