Good Things Utah...and some more pictures!

So my friend Amy is the producer at Good Things Utah and we were telling her we wanted to go to the show and watch. She told us we could go on Memorial Day, and since Gentry was home from work I decided to go.

Kristin and I went the the show...we COULD have won a $15,000.00 trip to Lake Powell, but the girl directly behind be got the winning ticket. Let's be honest, it wouldn't have fit in with my luck if I would have won. DARN. But along with all of the other audience members, I got a signed CD of Michael McLean. I had a good time anyway, and I made a fool of myself when the camera panned to the audience. (The things you do for your kids.) My kids were so proud they could see me on tv. I felt like an idiot when I came home and watched how dumb I looked. (Leave it to me to tivo the show...so I can see myself.)

For all of you who asked...and AGAINST my better judgement...this last pic is some of the pictures I did for the photo-shoot. Hey if anyone is in need of a good photographer check out his website looslitaken.com

Boston and Brock's 4th Birthday!

Yesterday was Boston and Brock's 4th Birthday. It was a really fun day for them. They loved their presents, and me being the slacker mom that I am didn't plan a party until...let's see was it the morning of or the night before??? Well that's not important...at least they had a good time. So thanks to everyone who supported my kids even though I am a last minute planner. I'd like to think that the reason for my last minute planning is because I plan well under pressure, but let's be honest...I just am a big time SLACKER!

Anyway the boys both got more than they thought they wanted. Boston however didn't get the Mickey Mouse dress he asked for, but I let him know only girls wear dresses. (I think Alyssa might have too much influence on him.) Alyssa also influenced their High School Musical Pinata. (Spelling?) Brock actually likes High School Musical, so we made all 3 kids happy. Brock had more of an opinion on the basketball cake, but Boston agreed and everyone was happy.

The weather was actually really nice, so everyone got to swim. As we were cleaning up and everyone was getting ready to leave it felt like a tornado hit, but everyone started running around to clean up and we made it in the house with everything. We all had a great time.

More Pictures!

This last week we took the kids to Garden Park Ward to take pictures. I took some pictures with my camera, and my sister in law Kassie took some with hers. (I haven't gotten to see hers yet, but I'm betting they are better than these.) Anyway it was cold and rainy, and by the time we were done my 3 kids were crying..what's new. But I thought the pictures were pretty cute. I tried to talk Boston into smiling with his mouth closed...I didn't want to show off his grey/brown teeth...I'll save that for his Halloween costume.

A couple nights ago my friends and I were asked to have our pictures taken for a photographers portfolio thingy. It was actually really fun! He's a great photographer. Here are a couple shots of us. I'm not good at the straight face thing, everytime I tried a straight face I started to laugh. Needless to say he got a bunch of pictures with my mouth wide open and me laughing.

Soccer Games and Injury Updates

Alyssa had her second soccer game on Saturday. Being the mother of the year that I am, I didn't make it to her first game, but that's another story for another day. So I took these two pictures before the game, and I forgot to take pictures while she was actually playing. She did really good. I was pretty impressed. She didn't even get a break and she was happy about it. She was more aggressive than I've ever seen her...which is not her personality.

Well I have to admit I've learned some lesson's in life, and one of them being...don't judge others. For example: Before I had twins I said I would never let my kids dress themselves...well we all know after seeing Boston in the same Mickey Mouse pj's post after post I've failed at that, and the fact that my kids are either wearing pj's or tank tops...well I'll just thank my sister for the awesome hand me downs:). I also said I would never let my kids go with a snotty nose anywhere. Well now I know that if pictures are not being taken, who cares about the boogers? I also think clean teeth is a must...kids or adults. Well I do try to keep my kids teeth clean, but there is only so much you can do for a kid when his brother gives him a knuckle sandwich...leading to...yes the gray/brown teeth. I can't believe it...my kid...and he looks like a hill billy! (Did I spell that right?) So now you won't find me judging you or your un-bathed kids, because I have learned that if I say it out loud I end of having to EAT MY WORDS...and that can be painful on your pride:)

Update on Boston:
Hand is looking so much better, and he doesn't seem to mind changing the dressing.
His teeth...well that's another story. They look horrible, but I haven't decided what to do yet.
And last but not least I threw in a picture of Brock with his "guns". He is so odd sometimes, but I'm pretty sure it's just a genetic defect or something. He reminds me so much of my crazy nephews. He is always keeping me laughing with his "tough guy" attitude.
